I wanted to build a budget range rifle fashioned after a steel challenge rifle. I had a stock laying around from an MLR22 which got the ball rolling. I picked up parts over time when it went on sale. I scored a Ruger threaded carbon fiber barrel. Then a BX trigger and stock Ruger bolt/charging handle combo. I got a Ruger 10/22 receiver on sale from Volquartsen. I slapped it all together and topped it off with a Bushnell TRS25 red dot sight i already had in my collection of “stuff”.
I will see how it shoots this weekend. It is ridiculously light, maybe 4-4.5 lbs. i may put a compensator on it. Why? Why not?
