New shirt

Years ago when the family went on vacation we were coming home and was driving through Snyder Texas, i got pulled over for something, probably speeding. any way the cop was writing me a ticket and he went to hand it to me and looked down at my t shirt and said something and then proceded to make us get out of the truck so he could call backup to search my truck..

When the dipsticks finally got through finding nothing and we was about to leave i said it was the shirt wasn't it. he said yes.

I enlisted in 74. I dropped out of highschool at 16 and had my dad sign for me at 17. Back then it was technically still Vietnam era and the quota was 55% grads 45% non grads. My dad was a career soldier and told me I didn't know what I was getting myself into. If anything it taught me about respect. Spent my 18th birthday in Germany. The US Army has changed quite a bit I imagine since then. We had C-ration and were still wearing the steel pot and fatigue. Hell you got cigarettes with C-ration. Born on a Army base and so was my brother. My mom was a WAAC and that's how my dad met her when he was stationed in Germany. In my day drill sergeants were still carrying 1911s and they were still being used in combat.
To think this rant was started about a T shirt.....

It’s all good. I’m used too the stories.

This was exactly the shirt i had on and it was in the 80's. who knew it was vintage. lol too bad i wore it out many years ago.

I got pulled over in Ballwin, Missouri about 25 years ago in my work truck for allegedly following too closely. I had two stickers on my bumper. The one about spoons making Rosie O'Donnell fat and the one about Ted Kennedy's car killing more people than my gun. The first question the cop asked me was " Do you have any guns in the vehicle". Back then that was not allowed. I asked him if he asked everyone that question or if he singled me out because of the stickers. Then I told him that law abiding gun owners were the least likely to break the law. Then I stepped out of the truck and told him to search it and see. He started to get pissed off, which pissed me off and I ended up pretty much yelling at him on the side of a really busy street. That shut him up, but he did give me a ticket. Which he failed to show up in court for and which I got dismissed, without the aid of a lawyer. I think I paid $20 in court costs.

These are the kind of cops that make people hate cops.

Never been to Texas. Never been through Texas. Never been pulled over in Texas. And until the statute of limitations clock runs out, I'll not go back to Texas! 🤪

I can't keep track of the times my Marine Corps and Army veterans stickers on my trucks have gotten me out of tickets over the years. The pull over stop usually turns into a nice conversation about duty stations with the officer that has pulled me over. And informing them of my license to carry also turns into a nice conversation. The worst ticket I've had in over 20 years is a warning about a blown out tail light. And I speed like a MoFo.

I've heard the Bible on the dash works pretty good..."Why you doin 95"?
"My foot is heavy with redemption, I'm just blessed to be alive". 😃

I got pulled over in late 1991 on I-5 just south of the Oregon line for doing 95 in a 55 Zone.

I told the cop to truth we were on our way back to Fort Lewis and we were running short on time.
We had a nice long conversation and he talked about how proud he was of the military.

Then he told me to keep it under the speed limit until I left California right before he handed me a ticket for $215. He told me that if he actually wrote it for 95 he would have had to take me to jail. So he wrote it for 65.

I guess you could call that cutting me a break

Then it's gotta be my good looks.

I do have to get another one or two next time I go
I too, like patriotic tees. Lately, I have been having probs finding some good quality ones though. Where did you get yours? Kohl's used to carry many of them, but it seems everybody now carry stupid meme's on them, or cartoon characters, or dumb sayings.

Love the retro vibe on this one. That logo placement is sharp, and the color works great with jeans or cargo pants. I’d definitely grab another if they drop more.
I had a similar thing happen before, and I ended up switching what I was going to wear last minute. If you're ever looking to step things up or need something sharp for a formal event, check out https://www.gentlemansguru.com/product-category/wedding-tuxedos/ — found some solid options there that looked great and didn’t break the bank.
