Yep. I have the holster drawer AND the stomach callouses from wearing shitty setups while figuring it out. It's absolutely a process and requires tuning. And sometimes what sucks out of the box, is your dream setup when tuned. CCW is a commitment to be sure.

When it comes to tuning don't be afraid to try out various wedges and play with the angle/cant of your carry. That's just as important as where you carry. My holster needed the gun tilted forward a bit so the grip rises above the beltline a bit more and I can slip my fingers under more readily and the clip ensures it's always in the proper place for that.

Check out “$40 gun belt”. Good products at a decent price, I use the steel core and it doesn’t matter what size pistol, it works great

Holsters are super personal and there is no wrong answer, just the one that works for you. But my preferred carry method as of late has been a PHLSTER Enigma. It can be worn with *anything* and is completely clothing agnostic. I am big on indexing and ensuring things are in the same spot for muscle memory and the Enigma has been the absolute best for that IMO. It's also very comfortable and long periods of wear do not phase me with it. I also strongly believe you need to be able to stand up, sit down, lay down, run, jump etc without your gun falling out or hindering you.

So if you wear varied clothes often, the Enigma might be the answer. I like the familiarity, security, stability and comfort the Enigma has brought to the table. It can be modified and configured in multiple different ways and is ambidextrous as well. It's more of a system compared to just a holster but the system works and works well IMO.

I can also vouch for DCC Monoblocks being one of the best clips to reach for, and they're easy to swap onto anything pretty much. Also the PHLster Flat wedge makes a HUGE difference. This is my setup. I've found this comfortable pretty much 24/7.
Is "indexing" same as printing? I'm learning a lot of new acronyms but it's progressing slowly hehe

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your rig. That's a great looking setup. My 'Rounded Gear' holster, DCC clips, and T1C muzzle pad look like this.

That's my Echelon 4.5F Comp. All of my IWB carry guns get the same setup. It's what works for me, and is quite economical. But the choices are almost endless.

Has anyone told the OP that most of us have a whole drawer, or maybe a closet, full of holsters? I've gone through a few and realized that they didn't work so well for me. Live and learn.

Thank you for your indulgence,

I like the look of this one. Looks simple, small beginning footprint and is this one made for the Echelon4c comp? If so can you please post link.

By indexing, I mean in the same position every time so your draw is the same every time. If you can wear a belt with all your clothes, it's not a huge deal but if you like basketball shorts or sweat pants or are a woman etc that don't have belt loops commonly, an enigma helps greatly with indexing.

Yes, it's a simple kydex holster, nothing fancy but gets the job done. I posted links in my previous post, #5. Here...

That post has links to the Echelon compact holster models as well as the DCC clips and T1C muzzle pads that I use. I've been using the 1.5" XL muzzle pads. Be sure to check out the 2.25" muzzle pads in case you want more padding on your holster. In addition to the $42 for the holster, the DCC clips ($6) and muzzle pads ($6-$8 for a single), which must be ordered separately, add a little to the total cost.

Again, this is just what works for me. Maybe it will work for you too. All the best.

Sorry, I am confused thank you again :)

Welcome to the forum. You’ll find out what you like and don’t like over time. We are all a little different in the head but will help each other. The addiction is real and times hard to kick. Been from California you will bite your lips from time to time from states that have less restrictions on our 2nd amendment rights. Yes I’m from Illinois and I currently am biting my lip. So enjoy and learn as you go.

After many holsters (both like and dislike) I also endorse the Legacy Holster. I have gone from 1 to currently 5 (all Cronus) and purchased Holsters for my sons. It is the most comfortable IWB full Kydex Holster I have dropped onto my belt. @SimonRL had made an earlier post, that thankfully triggered my interest.
