Hello from the Midwest. We are down south of Kansas City. Retired US Navy Sailor after 20 years plus and am now living the good life. Married one son, no grand children, and 2 dogs. Looking to add to my gun collection a 1911 Springfield Armory Mil spec for this Christmas. Mainly to be used for target practice and home protection. Love sports especially anything with an engine. My teams are KC Chiefs, KC Royals, St Louis Blues, and a few different NBA teams...
 
Welcome to both the Forum and the State! You happened to land in Clinton, home of the best pizza place in the State, Pizza Glen! I am jealous! Great choice with the Mil Spec...it has the bigger sights of a modern 1911 without all the things you don't need (in my opinion) like a full length guide rod or an ambidextrous safety which is easily swept off if you actually carry it.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to know you and thank you for your service. I'm a bit North of you in the Wild Wild Upper Midwest close to a couple of my grandkids. I also have a couple of grandkids on the Left Coast, but I don't hold that against them.

I have a 9mm Ronin and a .45 Garrison that are more accurate than I am. I'm impressed with just about all of the SA products. I have 8 Springfield units so far. I wish they made revolvers. ;)

If you must know, I'm a diehard Saints fan, have been from their very first game in 1967. Nowadays, since retirement/relocation, I do show a little love toward the Brewers and Packers.

How often do you get out to the range? Let's see some targets. :)
