Of course getting an optic is only the first part. You need a weapon light/laser rail as well.
A
.460 S&W Magnum revolver can fire
four cartridges:
- .460 S&W Magnum — the full-power hammer
- .454 Casull — the heavy hitter just below it
- .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) — the classic cowboy round
- .45 Schofield — the old black-powder-era cartridge
Crank off a round from this, you probably won't even have to hit them. The blast wave should knock them over. I shot a .460 S&W once and my hand ached for days, so I get the appeal of one gun firing four cartridges, but the real value is the .45 Colt for practice and .454 Casull for serious work because the full power .460 is just too much for most shooters and burns through expensive ammo fast. The versatility is cool but the gun is heavy, the cylinder gap spits hot gas, and finding affordable plinking loads is a chore, so unless you hunt big dangerous game, a .357 magnum does 90% of the job with half the pain. I use a
pinty buster pcp pistol for backyard fun and that little thing gets more use than any big revolver because it is quiet, cheap to feed, and does not punish my grip. My honest take is buy the .460 only if you truly need that power, otherwise save your wrists and your wallet.
I've since developed a very good method of winning what I want $100s less than if I purchased locally. Patience is the key.
