THat, and pet dogs
Like many other Nationalities who immigrate to the US, legally or otherwise, the biggest issue that causes problems is the new immigrants absolute refusal to assimilate. Everyone talks about how immigrants built the USA and I don’t disagree…but those immigrants were PROUD to assimilate, PROUD to learn English, PROUD to interact with other US Citizens.

Just recently, Gov Abbott had to put an end to the Muslim/Sharia law only neighborhood that was being built. This is the exact “OPPOSITE” of assimilation…but folks still don’t get it.

“A controversy arose in 2024–2025 regarding a planned, 400-acre, Muslim-centric residential development named EPIC City (or "The Meadow") located near Josephine, Texas, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas.”

Teddy Roosevelt on assimilation:

Assimilation and "One Loyalty": Roosevelt declared that immigrants must become "in every facet an American, and nothing but an American". He opposed divided allegiances, stating, "We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language".

Theres a better than good argument that "freedom of religion" was NEVER meant for Judaism, Catholics, and DEFENITLY not islam as well as a few others. Jefferson made a point to say islam was not welcome in the US.

As late as 1780 it was illegal to be a Baptist in Virginia. I can only imagine how they would have dealt with muslims.

The Barbary Pirates of the time gave Jefferson plenty cause to dislike the Muslim culture.

The USA doesn't guarantee freedom of cult.

There are two additional large groups who have failed to assimilate. Well, actually three if you count the brainiacs who support them. Just watch the news.
