Oh, those wild nights of drinking and going to Taco Hell.

thankfully none up here either, but we do have Denny's and i was pleased with the food, service, just not the tables that anorexic only people can squeeze into.
I was in a Waffle House over the summer. The only thing I didnt stick to was the seat. Even the menus were pre injected with sryup. Not the best experience.

Never been to a Dennys. We have a chain callen Percy's Place and of course iHop.
Remember when breakfast was the cheapest meal of the day? Those days are long gone.

I was in a couple Awful Houses 21 years ago where my shoes stuck to the floor. I said I would never go into another. Just recently I went to one here locally with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at how clean the place was, and breakfast was great. I guess it all depends on the local manager.
That was the first one I was in that was like that. The thing that was really bothering me was it didnt get that bad from just the morning rush. Turning the place into a giant venus fly trap took some work.

what got me food poisoning was....

i actually saw the "alleged cook", wiping the counter dry, with a towel.......innocent enough..??

but then, he'd wipe out all the frying pans from the stove top, with that same towel....not WASHING any of them in HOT water first, and using a CLEAN towel later.

now, what are/were the chances of the counter top being CLEAN, and from a CLEAN bucket of hot water, and a CLEAN sponge, then wiped up cleanly..??

i unfortunately had already devoured my breakfast just a few seconds, AFTER i saw him and his "cleaning duties"...

from RIchmond, VA, i had to go to Louisville, KY....

i didn't make it....about less than 2 hours, i was on the side of the road, heaping all my breakfast onto the side of that road.

and i still HAD to get to Louisville........which i did.....many hours later.

and DO NOT ask me how i witnessed a truck stop worker, washing the floors and shower stalls, in the shower rooms, with a bucket of BLACK water...just don't ask me...

My wife has high blood pressure. As a result we don't do salt.

So when we go out to eat really anywhere that's what we notice is how salty the damn food is.

There's a Del Taco right across the street from our local Taco Hell, we never go to Taco Hell anymore.

Last thing, there is an area on South Tejon in Colorado Springs about four blocks Square where literally every business in that area is a bar.

Somebody got a bright idea and opened up a diner on the corner of Nevada and Bijou (about 2 blocks away) that is open till 4 AM. The place stays packed on Friday and Saturday night

Going into restaurants and watching tables get "cleaned" after wiping the seats and floor before wiping the table really gets under my skin! To make things worse they'll sweep the floor with a bristle broom flicking debris while you're eating. My parents opened a restaurant when I was in 4th grade. From 2-4pm they would close to do a complete cleaning of the business (vacuumed the carpet, recleaned tables and chairs, the whole kitchen along with buffet in use or not (no food was in it at the time) and restrooms). All was done in a certain order so it wouldn't require any stone left unturned. We 1st opened on Mother's Day and I bussed tables, cleaned/washed dishes, host, served/refilled and any other thing just to help keep up. Those were the days!

I worked part time armed security at the Taco Cabana's on Lower Greenville(Dallas area) and the one Highway 12 near Bachman Lake.

Interesting people(ok, drunk chicks and dudes...:)) were a regular occurrence at night especially after 10 pm. Security company was always trying to get me to work full time for them, but 2 or 3 nights on some weeks was plenty of excitement for me...:)

Back in my motorcycle riding days I used to enjoy going to Waffle Houses in different parts of Dallas. The people who worked in some of those Waffle Houses were almost as entertaining as some of the customers...:)

Perhaps it's no wonder that I don't really enjoy going out much at night anymore. I live in a small town now and I don't miss dealing with drunks in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Little Rock areas...:)

I was a glutton for punishment as a I also worked as a Mental Health Associate and Spanish Interpreter in Mental Health Hospitals and clinics. Never a dull moment...:)

People do some stupid stuff when they're drunk. I had one idiot try to kick me in the parking lot of the Taco Cabana in Lower Greenville after escorting out of the restaurant. He pulled a hamstring muscle, laid on the ground grabbing the back of his leg, and limped off the property. Sure was funny...:)
