On The Road……..

So I haven’t posted on this thread in awhile so not sure where I left off.
So…..
After returning too Texas from Montana in September 2024 I stayed on private property east of San Antonio for close to 9 months, it was great until it wasn’t.
I had been looking into campground Hosting, my first opportunity was at Caddo Lake Texas State Park in Karnack TX for 4 months from July to the end of October. Since I was now in the TPDW System I was able to get a 6 month stint at Bonham State Park in Bonham TX November until the end of April.
Now….. oh here we go…..
To those who don’t know winter is here and the area I’m in is expecting cold rain starting this afternoon then Ice and then snow along with EXTREME COLD.
I’ve got my RV Skirted with 2 electric heaters under the RV plugged into the power pedestal “full hookup”
The park is turning off the water to the whole park today around noon but I have 80 gallons in my fresh water tank and lots of bottled water and food.
Yes my main concern is electricity but I got my generator running yesterday and have about 25 gallons of gas. My RV basically runs on 12V including 12V only fridge and the Furnace 12V only also.
I’ll have 110 gallons of propane after I get one of my 3 30 pound tanks filled this morning 🙏🏻 and a full 20 pounder.
With the work I’ve done insulating the inside of exterior walls and windows and door are covered against drafts, with all that and my furnace being very efficient I feel confident I’ll be warm. My only concern is if I do lose power I have 2 large solar panels to set up to help the generator keep my 4 batteries charged.
Going to be a wild ride.

Ive often fantasized about selling the house and trying the Van Life. Thing is' I dont mind selling the house and furniture but I ain't selling the guns, ammo and gear. So in my fantasy of Hot large breasted women travel companions, the best idea I could come up with is to locate stockpiles at storage locker sights across the country (all within a tank of gas range). I thought it was genius until I started pricing storage lockers. Hell by the time I was finished with the map and calculator I could have almost bought a Lear Jet...

Update……
I was able to get the (1) 30 pound propane tank topped off so I now have (3) full 30 pound tanks and (1) full 20 pound tank of propane.

Wish me luck…….
my son and daughter are back to college in south texas and are expected to have freezing rain and not sure about snow? last night both of them stocked upon water, food and snacks. this is her last semester in a dorm and 3 of her dorm mates also went shopping. hopefully their dorm doesn't lose heat and hot water like they did their 1st day back. as long *** it doesn't get high winds you'll be fine Goose

used to be a fantastic BBQ place on the square in bonham, but it burned down
there is a WHATABURGER though

like the skirting move, blocking that wind will help alot
we used hay bails one time, made a mess but worked for the week

tyler state park which is near tyler has about 8 host spots, if you apply
stay warm
tractor supply and walmart are there as well
i have be up there in march, at the VA, might stop in and say Howdy

Good luck my friend, though it sounds like you’re pretty well prepared. I am used to brutal cold and storms but this one is a monster and it’s blanketing states (some states) with little to no equipment to handle the fallout. The only thing I would be concerned about (not worried, concerned) is keeping the water in liquid form. Aside from that IMHO, I think you will be fine.
It’s good to hear from you again on this thread 😊.
