P211 GTO questions for current owners ...

Professional
Greetings friends,
A question or two for my brother's that currently own a P211 GTO. as a caveat, I have asked SIG the same 1-2 but have not gotten a response to my email as of today.

1) Can I get a completely "BLACK" pistol if I buy without Sig Optic? Not opposed to waiting on special order.
2) How do I confirm pistol has steel reverse plug without physical inspection? Most of my LGS' do not let me break down to inspect.
3) Have any of you had issues with compensator retention pin / screw walking loose?
4) Does the gun REALY shoot as smooth as advertised? I own Staccato XL & XC, so the bar is set pretty high.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated and looking foward to hearing them.

PEACE.

THOUGHT THWERE WAS AN ALL BLACK MODEL.....DARN CATS AGAIN WITH CAPS LOCK..........................THEIR RELEASE MODEL I THOUGHT WAS AN ALL BLACK.....MAYBE THAT WASN'T A GTO, BUT JUST A P211? LOOKS LIKE THE TRIGGER AND MAGWELL ARE THE ONLY 2 PIECES THAT AREN'T BLACK..........NOT SURE ABOUT CUSTOM ORDERING THOUGH? THEN THE EXTRA COST OF CHANGING THOSE 2 PIECES COULD UP TO $300?

Appears that base model has stainless finish on trigger and magwell, the 211F-9-GTO-B-RXSL is all black, but you includes Romeo-x pro optic. Looking for black gun without sigs Romeo x pro optic.

I like my double stack handguns Blacked out. Just personal preference.

Outstanding pistol.

Thank you for the feedback @KillerFord1977 and the great pics too. Nudging that much closer to the purchase. BTW, I hear Sig is sending upgraded steel reverse plugs to current owners at no charge . Peace
Some are shipping with the metal plug, some aren’t but if you contact Sig they will send you a metal plug gratis. I got one from them this week. I also got one from Dawson Precision for $20.

The gun has a super high giggle factor and shoots as flat as everyone says. And it is super fast on rapid fire as well.

The all black version only comes with the Sig optic. I’m not a fan of the Sig Loc optic. For $600 I want a big window - particularly on a race gun. The Vortex Defender XL and ST will direct mount with the bosses that come with the gun and are a better. Voice IMHO.

There’s a lot of grousing about this gun in the 2011 community because it’s a Sig, it’s not technically a 2011, because it’s a Sig… Bottom line is it’s a fantastic gun, well worth the money. In the same market is the Kimber 2K11 Comp. It’s getting better reviews than the P211. I’ve got one order, I’ll let you know.

KF, if you look carefully at your gun it has a silver magwell and trigger. The all black P211 is, well, all black. 😎😇🤔

I was referring the to gun itself, all that is accoutrements that are easily replaced

Been considering one of these since they were introduced. Just starting to hit our restricted capacity state. Was close on a Prodigy then I got my hands on one of these a few days ago. Smooth slide and great feel. May wait to see the 5" non comp'd version before comtting.

I think the comp is the magic sauce when it comes to the P211. Obviously, that doesn’t work for competition and I’m sure it will be good either way, but I doubt it will be as flat a shooter without.

Agreed. Have a new Fusion XP Comp with about 300 rounds through it in the safe. Honestly surprising pistol in every respect. Easy to keep on target for follow up shots. The knock on them is parts are made in Turkey ala Tisas, etc. They are assembled here in Venice Fl. No mim parts a big although not valid complaint about many firearams. The hand fitting smith assembly is good on mine. Like many here I can't help myself always lusting after what's next. The P211 GTO is a really slick pistol and feels great in my hand.

Was waiting in the parking lot of my go to LGS 20 minutes before opening time dead set on leaving with a GTO. The sales associate was great, and when when I asked if the gun was in stock he said they had 3 on hand that were not spoken for. I asked to see all 3 and he brought them out. The slide to frame fitment was acceptable on all 3. The problem I had was that the triggers on all 3 of them had what I considered excessive slop both vertical and horizontal. I have no issues with series 80, but the trigger channel seemed out of spec. I love a Sig, and want this gun, but I will wait a little longer for the "bugs" to get worked out.

When you put you're hard earned money down it has to be right. Never thought about asking to check all in stock to pick. I typically ask for a fresh one not in the case then check it out.
