The Federal Bureau of Investigation highlighted a series of law enforcement and national security metrics this week, noting its increased efforts against foreign intelligence threats, transnational criminal organizations, and cybercrime.
According to figures shared by the FBI, agents have arrested 113 active spies working on behalf of foreign governments, while counterintelligence-related arrests have increased by 53 percent.
The bureau also reported approximately 4,800 cartel-related arrests, the disruption of 850 active plots, and a 77 percent increase in cyber indictments.
