Small high output flashlights are great. Everybody should have on among their gear.

Princeton make nice lights. I carry an olight i3t2 EOS in my pocket daily along with a spare lithium cell. Brightest little single cell AAA light i can find.

When going out specifically at night I add a Streamlight dual fuel AA/Cr134 light in my jacket.

I have many small flashlights like this. Olight and 5.11 pen lights, a fatter and shorter Fenix that is exceptionally bright and is rechargeable, a couple small Streamlights, a couple Pro Tac WMLs.

My new favorite though is the Streamlight Wedge. 2 modes, 400 lumen and 1000 lumen, slim, rechargeable with an exceptional battery charge life and a great, intuitive switch. I've had this light for like 5 months now and only had to charge it once.
