My role model for what a handgun should shoot like is my Sig 226 X5. Bottom line is: I don’t think there is a one size fits all solution.

Except Glocks. Don’t buy Glocks. Sure they’re reliable, but style’s gotta come into this equation at some point. I mean, when you’re watching a movie, are you rooting for the guy in the grey suit with the Glock or the guy with the P226 Elite and the PPK/S backup? Yeah, I thought so.

The quartet below is quite pricey, the quality of each is impeccable. Reliability is beyond acceptable.
Staccato XC purchased last week 550 rounds no malfunction extremely accurate and fast to return to target.
Staccato XL purchased 10/26 of this year 5080 rounds no malfunction very accurate and fast.
SA TRP OPERATER full rail 45acp purchased a few years ago 3200 rounds no malfunction VERY accurate.
SA OPERATER 45acp purchased a few months before full rail bove. 700 rounds, too nice to keep shooting, special occasion gun. No slop, no disconnect hang, smooth as glass.
For these examples I would say YES the quality in my opinion, is deserving of the price.

I will never bash a Glock as it was the brand that saved my life. I liked them until the day I had my hand operated on and now I cannot shoot them comfortably nor accurate. The G19 will always be my savior but now my HK's have proved to be more accurate and comfortable to shoot. I will say that Glocks will go bang no matter what and for that I am grateful.

Yes, this is the issue I run into at some of my firearm stores. I have been told by numerous individuals to "Buy American Made" the minute I ask about a SAR or Girsan, some of these guys roll their eyes at me like I am the worst customer ever.

I tend to guide those with a budget toward PD trade ins. Good quality weapons at reasonable prices. Typically are the definition of “carried a lot, shot a little”.
