Range report: 1911 range day!

I spent the day at the range with 2 of my favorites, the Springfield TRP CC and the Kimber Next Gen Pro both in 9mm. I've been putting a lot of rounds thru the Kimber and I think I finally have her running how I expect it to. The Kimber is a REALLY nice 1911 and I'm glad I was able to pick it up. My TRP is now my alternative carry when I feel like a 1911. Range ammo was a mix of Magtech and Fiocchi 115gr. I used a mix of 9mm mags and had no issues with any of them. Both targets are 3 mags (27-28 rounds) at 30 ft (10 yds). I am running the Osight SE Enclosed optic on both guns. I've been generally happy with the groups I get with my 1911's, but that's why I practice so much.

Hey!

Nice work! I've been shooting my 1911s a lot lately, trying to get real familiar. Looks like your TRP and Next Gen Pro are really loving you. ;)

Are those Mecgar and Promag? I use those as well as CMC mags. I use a few factory mags as well, never had an issue with any. Keep up the good work. :)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

That will discourage miscreants with nefarious intent...

I've been enjoying going to the range more, I usually go once a week, but I've been sneaking in a second day, since both 1911's are really fun to shoot!
The mags are a mix of Tisas, Kimber, Springfield, Ruger and Checkmate mags, and one off brand that I don't know what it is, but it works! I haven't tried any Mecgar mags, but I hear good things about them.

I have a Rock Island Ultra in 10mm that I rebuilt with Wilson Combat parts and a STI trigger. The only original parts on it is slide, barrel, and frame. I had the trigger down to 1.5 pounds but put it back to 4 pounds because I used to carry it. I’ve got to get it milled for an optic. I love the gun but I can’t see iron sights anymore. Both I keep procrastinating and haven’t sent it out yet.
