Yeah, I know. 50,000 hours of battery life and all, with solar backup. But being the geek that I am, I don't like systems running when they're not in use. I haven't turned it off yet. Maybe I'll get used to it and just replace the battery once every year or so. I guess that's how most folks do it.

Not that you mentioned this but, While the shake awake is a great feature for the conceals carrier and LEO you still should replace the battery at the regular intervals solar backup or not.

As such you are always moving or driving a patrol car etc so it’s on more than it’s not even in the holster.

I mean I remember they started recommending replacing shotgun rounds some more frequently than handgun and rifle rounds because the buck would get flat spots worn on them from bumping and rubbing while in the rack. To the point the flight pattered would be erratic

Have a Holosun EPS Carry green dot on my current EDC. Took a while to get use to it. But I'm good with it.
Have 4 other guns with Optics on them. I prefer green over red.
Only optic I'm not sure about yet is a Holosun SCS-MP2-GR I have on my M&P 2.0 Compact. Not sure how the "no" battery thing is going to work.

Have EPS 6MOA green on M&P 2.0 4" and SA 1911 AOS Operator 5" shoot them much better than other pistols with red dots. For me the green dot is much easier to pick up. I replace batteries yearly on my b-day.

I have never turned one off. It's like 3 minutes or 10 minutes or something and it turns itself off. I do change all my batteries once a year no matter what, but I have never had a battery die and I have heard stories of guys with 3 year old batteries in shake awake equipped Holosuns. Personally the $25 or whatever it costs to put new batteries in all my optics, lights and lasers once a year is money well spent. Another thing to consider, if you carry spare batteries in the grip of your AR or shotgun ( and you should) they need to be replaced as well.

No, it doesn’t.

It could, I know a lot of competitors that use frame mounted red dots, like the Cmore systems, were that would not be appropriate for deep ccw.
