Ruger to Discontinue Several Major Models

Interesting.

While I started out with various Ruger products & still have several, their product line hasn't been very encouraging for awhile.

The only thing I bought recently was an RXM upper only since the grip/frame is pretty uninspiring. But I have picked up several of the new & improved Marlins.

I didn't see the 10/22 mentioned so I'll assume it's still going to stick around. But, with the abundant 10/12 aftermarket you can easily build one w/o buying anything from Ruger.

They say they might bring back some of those listed, but after an overhaul/redesign, so with the Blackhawk lines I hope they adjust the grip angle a bit.

They have had great success reimaging the Marlin lever-actions.

I wonder when the BerRuger models will arrive?

i don't see how any of that made sense! some maybe yes, but that's a lot of no longer firearms! glad i didn't buy what i was going to (rpr) and the 77's would be nice especially in a 44mag. auto loading 44mag was on my list and did try a 10mm from olympic arms ar conversion that was terrible and midway usa took it back. if something isn't selling then hold off on producing more and keep an eye on stock like redhawks and super hawks. their 5.7 still producing doesn't make any sense along with their pc chargers being stopped except for the 22's.

Revolvwr sales are around 10% of the market. SASS pretty much has leveled off and fokks arent doing a lot woth theor Blackhawks as much as I hate to say that.

Machines are in bad shape and they just don’t make as much iver labor costs with wheelguns as they do a lot of other makes.

Theor rifle kine has been stagnant, theor AR kine has not been stellar.

This was not about Beretta. This was about $$ and taking in the Marlin kine whem the habe to basically rebuild mos rod the machines and those that were new the A$$hat Remington employee zeroized them to factory setting so that cost them bank to get up and running .

And believe it or not gun companies even you favorite brand don’t care about you more than making money.

couple items jump out: 1. They are not inexpensive. Most folks would rather that next nifty semi, or rifle or even shotugn than another safequeen. 2. The revolvers are large and heavy - that isn't tracking well for those who carry. 3. Probably over produced and now the dealer network is gagging and refusing to stock more until some sell. 4. Here it comes - COLT, yes that is correct, Colt brought back the seven serpents. That must have bit into Ruger's sales. 5. Lesser Q makers like Taurus are mass producing revolvers and semis now. 6. There are a lot more choices for any kind of firearm now and this is just a rebalancing time.
