Ruptured case

I was at the range today shooting my Walther
WMP .22WMR pistol when it fired what think may have been out of battery. The back of the case ruptured and a small piece of brass or burning powder put a small cut in my chin. I was shooting Winchester Super X ammo when this happened. Does anyone have a theory of what may have happened? I've never encountered this before.

Yeah, out of battery looks to be a more likely after seeing those pictures…

Question is, was it the ammo or the gun…
I'm going to message Walther and Winchester and send them both pics. I dont plan on shooting the pistol until Walther looks at it. Theres a small gouge under the slide that wasnt there prior to today that is sharp as a razor.
