While it seems like a nice rifle and I wish them luck other than my wish for a 3” Model 13 or new 3rd Gen 5900,4000,1000 or 4566 so far with the 2 products I know if Im interested in the blued version of the new J frame carry.

Just me, all this hoopla for a lever action rifle, not into over actions anymore, I rather have a Henry myself, just sayin…

This is geared more towards hunting than cowboy action and as such has some nice features. I love the wood grain, but at $3500, it's a hard no. For the synthetic stock, that price is more reasonable and makes sense for the hunting crowd.

If companies would make a #1 in a lever vs break open that would be extremely nice! Lots of load data with 3 45-70 types of ammo (trapdoor, Marlin1895 & Ruger #1). Strengths by actions although the 1895's max pressure is @ 28k many test up to 42k. Not knowing if Henry and other 45-70 of similar action could be loaded this high would give me more choices.

The plastic to metal fit on the S&W is not as good as the wood to metal fit on the new Marlins. Looks like a close copy of a Marlin 336.

I had some hints this was coming, but finally seeing the finished product yesterday was pretty exciting. I'm seriously re-thinking whether I might need .32 H&R in my life. I heard $699 retail, which is a bit steep, although considering the upgrades, it makes sense. I bet street price will be less.

Other than that, I haven't seen any SHOT reveals that are interesting to me.

nope, i have my heart set on a Henry for sure, at the very least, under $1,800

i did "suspect" a gun though, i was really hoping for a SSA revolver.

S&W makes some very good products, i'll not deny that...

but i will not spend that amount of money, over a Henry.

They put out a .357 (or, be still my beating heart, .41 Mag), and I’ll buy it in a heartbeat.

I use the .44 S for 329PD practice but still not as cheap & available as a .357.

If they offered both (44/.357) right off it would have made more sense since this S&W lever gun is coming into a competitive lever-gun market.

Sportsman’s Warehouse had a deal on Winchester .44spl 210gr Silvertips for $7.99/20 about 5-10 years ago.

I bought 1k of them.

What are $1500-$2400 lever action rifles being used for and do that other platforms can't? What am I missing? Just seems like a small niche "just because I have extra money and I have a lever action fetish" firearm.
