SA .40 S&W

Just curious if SA has more than the XD lineup for .40 S&W? Yes I have the Glock 23 Gen 5 and really don’t want to get the metal S&W M&P40 M2.0 for 800 bucks. Also the 10MM is fun but getting the XDm elite isn’t on my list anymore because of the state I’m in.

If only you could get your hands on a Sig Mastershop X-Short .40 S&W…

There are plenty of slightly used police trade in Sig 226/229 40’s that could ba an alternative for around 400

Check out aim surplus
That said out of the choices of new guns if I wanted a 40 you said 800 was a lot but the M&P either metal or polymer then a HK USP would be my 2 choices since they were originally engineered for 40

I think that last 3 or 4 state police agencies running 40 are California (M&P 2.0) and Illinois and MD (Glock 22) and SD (Sig 226) but Illinois is changing to 9mm this year

Illinois is going with the Glock. Yes the M&P40 M2.0 metal is nice but it’s around 800 dollars (yes I tried it played with it at the gun shop I get some of my ammo) and I already have 2 M&P’s. The Glock 23 is gets range time and carry time. I looked into SA but I’m on the fence with it since I want the XDm elite in 10MM. I expressed my thoughts about the Glock 22 Gen 5 non MOS and the Glock 20 is to bulky in my book.

Bingo. I just picked up a used (although you cannot tell) P229 that was “reconditioned “ at Sig for $500. Only had one magazine, but they aren’t hard to source.
