I shoot mostly alone but once in a while my son will go with me

i had a shooting buddy, but he got a different job, so that ended.

i actually do prefer to be alone, that way, i can go anytime, and not have to set up a meeting time.

then stay or leave anytime as well,

go about my business the rest of the day.

I’m blessed to have my own range down by my barn. Years ago, shooting hi power rifle, I had a good friend who I’d shoot with a LOT. We shot 300, 400, and 600 yard ranges. It was a lot of fun to have a compadre, and we helped each other a lost in our efforts to master the rifle.

I'm mostly a loner when it comes to shooting, but the kids enjoy it a lot, so there's that! All of us (family) need more range time and time being taught the skills of reloading/handloading! With several new builds and several cartridges to do, I'm way behind! .

I typically have a friend that I go with but I go alone a lot also. Sometimes I just want to focus on what I'm doing and sometimes it's nice to go with someone and try different guns.

My best friend from high school passed away two years ago.
We used to be inseparable until his death and it is really hard to go back to the range by myself.

I shoot alone 99% of the time. Husband has come with me one time, but he didn’t shoot (he fondled the Glocks instead ). I will be hiring an instructor when the weather gets better and go out to the outdoor range and shoot my AR, and my favorite pistols.

No way in hades I’m taking my wife to the gun range to offer her advise on marksmanship.

I shoot with @SimonRL weekly and some other buds occasionally. Solo for 20 min on way home from work sometimes.

Some other buds that i cant take anywhere except to go to their range as they just want to “mag dump”.

Well, there is something to be said for just for "mag dumping", but it's hardly the best training method. It's good that you can take advantage of both.

I'm limited these days to a big outdoor range with facilities galore, and can shoot just about anything including class3. I don't go as often as I'd like, but on occasion. For many years prior, I had a 300yd range set up at our hunting camp with berms at 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300yds. We all shot a good bit during the day if not hunting. A lot of camp comps and a lot of fun with my hunting buds.

Besides other shooters I've come to know at the range, these days it's the Wonderful One only. She can't join me as often as we'd prefer, but all is well.

I like shooting alone as some have said in this thread. I have a close friend that occasionally goes with me. I've tried, with no success to teach him. He couldn't hit a bull in the *** with a bass fiddle.
