Shooting on Holloman AFB

NMEDGE

Professional
Last night there was a shooting on Holloman AFB Alamogordo NM. It happened at the base gas station. One person was killed and one wounded. So far the Air Force has not released anymore information. I guess military installations are not even safe anymore.

From my contacts and the Amn/NCO/SRNCO FB page it sounds like a domestic violence incident. Woman shot husband and woman is dead. Wether she was shot by someone else or self deleted herself is not known.

Even in the 80’s and early 90’s whem I was active we had crazy stuff on base it just didn’t happen as much .amd they usually kept it under wraps and didn’t release much about it. Lots of domestics and suicides and kive triangles

People are gonna people

Well apparently (what’s being added to the AF page) the wife attempted serving divorce papers to the husband at the Shopette and apparently he wasn’t taking it. And (again supposedly) she pulled a gun with kids in the car unload several rounds. A couple bystanders got hit with shrapnel and at some point she ran inside and self deleted.

Again this is supposedly from someone there however so from reading some vague articles it seems something similar to this is probably what happened.

And the fact they reserved no danger to the public and lifted the lockdown I’d say it was an attempted murder/suicide by a crazy lady!

I've been reading the same reports.

I've read reports about Fort Hood being really bad. Actual gangs with service members making base housing a nightmare. A lot of that goes unreported. Certain demographic groups being responsible.
Saw that in Okinawa in the 60s and at Pendleton in the 70s. You are right…probably same demographics.

What is wrong with people today?
Mental health issues, lack of purpose, lack of humility, lack of humor, lack of spiritual guidance, where should I stop...

The military has always had gang members enlisted, for different reasons at different times. During Vietnam, many judges used the military as sentence alternatives to prison. Some still do today, though if that program is to be done, there needs to be other layers, counseling etc.

Today many kids enlisted at Mom's urging to get structured environment, etc.
