After some thought, I'll disagree... It is a good thing to fully unload your EDC pistol, break it down & inspect it. IDK about the rest of you, but on occasion I find that the last 1/3rd inch from the muzzle tends to collect lint, etc., and I don't like that. I love a clean slick barrel.

I like @FNFAN 's method. It's the most thorough way to make sure your ammo gets cycled. It also avoids the issue of unloading/reloading your mags, because the #1 cause of spring tension failure is repeated load/unload cycles. Maybe not an issue if you rarely do it, but if you're loading/unloading A LOT in addition to emptying mags on the range, metal fatigue could occur in your mags. The answer is simple, buy once/cry once, and that's buy more mags!

That's also why I love Springfield's annual 'gear up' promos, you get enough extra mags to save a solid $100, a Benjamin that can go towards ammo.

I also follow Jared daily - like him, I still have LE colleagues who keep in touch. However, he's leveraged those relationships to be the (IMHO) #1 2A news source online. Another source I like is Christian Warrior Training, a fellow (medically retired) sheepdog from Idaho (originally a CA cop); his channel is devoted to church security. If you're an active member of a local church, you should sub his channel.

I'm no Mr. Moneybags, but I've bought 2 new pistols (XDM Elite 10MM, Echelon) and plan on a 3rd before winter. Also some AR uppers. Last one was for my AR-10 in 6.5CM... This is only possible because I have annuities paying out far more than my disability check, and I haven't even started drawing my pension (the longer I hold off, the more I'll get every month). I have only three things that consume my attention: church, 2A activism, and shooting at the local club.

Thread 'SIG M18 mishaps investigated in death of Airman 7/20/25'

Ok a Security Forces Airman died Sunday at FE Warren Wyoming AFB. The incident is being investigated from an uncommanded discharge of the Sig M18 below is screen shots from the USAF Memo where Global Strike Command has suspended anyone being issued an M18 pistol
