SigP320 Safety Problems Continue – Resulting In Bans from Police Training Ranges!

Here is the FB post from where iDPA just announced they have banned the Sig 320 from IDPA competition. (2 different screenshots couldn’t fit it all into one)

This is no longer snowballing for Sig it’s turned into an outright avalanche

Another interesting tidbit from another forum. Apparently used P320s are hitting the secondary market in numbers increasing daily (exponentially). For those of you sincerely interested in picking up used P320s cheap. It was alleged there are more used Sig P320s available here than all used Glock models combined (I didn’t check).

It’s a crazy world when we cheer on someone’s demise. We play into the 2A haters
Nobody is cheering on Sigs demise. They are concerned about why Sigs isn’t answering the mail on, specifically, the P320. No other models that I’m aware of. I’m sure there are some, like me, who vote with their wallet, but a far bigger population is, I’m sure, enjoying all of their other (non P320) Sig models completely.

Not sure a safety issue should be turned into a 2A issue. And even if Sig disappeared, there are myriad gun options to fulfill 2A needs.

I dunno. Other than running them completely dry once resulting in a failure to go into battery without a push, I put over 8000 rounds through my X-Five without a single malfunction. Both my wife and retired LEO we choot with also have X-Fives and have put closer to 15,000 rounds each with no problems. That's my personal experience on the issue. Maybe it's the other models?

Likely. Pretty sure almost, if not all, with possible safety issues have been the basic duty issue types. None, or very few, of the upgraded fancy P320s. More likely they (theP320s involved in incidents) have been the off the basic assembly line models, inspected by no one. I’m sure if I bought a Wilson Combat collaboration P320 it would be fine because an actual armorer inspected it. I no longer own Sigs, but I am retired USAF, Security Police, but from the M-15/M9 days, so a dead Airman is concerning to me. As always, I wish all those that choose to enjoy their P320s the best and hope there is never another uncommanded discharge from a P320.

Was at the gun shop while ago ordering something and they had three of them plastic training guns on the checkout counter, one was a Glock, other a sig 320 and don't know what the other one was. guy scooted some papers over for this guy to sign and all three of the plastic trainers hit the ground. only the sig went off.
