Smith & Wesson Model 625-4 Springfield Armory Bicentennial Edition .45acp. Special production from the S&W Performance Center for Lew Horton Distributors. 500 made in 1994. Special serial number range SAC0000-SAC0500.
From the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson.

BTW: this was to commemorate the 200 birthday of the U.S. Arsenal Springfield Armory. Not the current commercial company.

I came here to say the same thing as I am a S&W 625 fan!!!

I checked the online firearms sales websites and they’re are some available.
I’m not interested in the commemoratives I have a 5” now if I got another one a 4” JM

However I am holding as I anticipate S&W to do a 45 acp mountain gun to add to their recently released 44 mag one through Lipsey

Or if I found a very good blued 4” 25 in 45 acp (or 45 Colt) I’d jump but I’m not scowling auction sights if it happens it happens

That would be Extremely Nice if they did that 👍

The M1917 (same model # from both S&W and Colt).

I don’t think Colt really continued making New Services in .45ACP after WW1; S&W did continue to make their M1917.
After WW1 the M1917s were put in storage. When WW2 started they were brought back out of storage, serviced, then reissued.
The Civilian versions I’m not sure about.
I handled but never fired one. It’s a hefty handgun.
