I think those polymer clips were called EZ Moon Clips or something similarI’ve got a number of S&W 625’s and 325’s (lightweight).
.45acp out of my 5” 625-5 is pretty fun.
I just use a couple of short dowels to remove empties from the clips. A lot easier…or get the polymer clips. Those are a breeze to load/unload.

I’m not interested in the commemoratives I have a 5” now if I got another one a 4” JMI checked the online firearms sales websites and they’re are some available.
That would be Extremely Nice if they did thatI’m not interested in the commemoratives I have a 5” now if I got another one a 4” JM
However I am holding as I anticipate S&W to do a 45 acp mountain gun to add to their recently released 44 mag one through Lipsey
Or if I found a very good blued 4” 25 in 45 acp (or 45 Colt) I’d jump but I’m not scowling auction sights if it happens it happens
They used .45 acp in many revolvers in the wars as an alternate to the 1911s. Ammunition was loaded in moon clips.I know next to nothing about revolvers. I didn’t know .45 ACP in a revolver was a thing.
Smith & Wesson versus Colt. I believe it was the M1917.They used .45 acp in many revolvers in the wars as an alternate to the 1911s. Ammunition was loaded in moon clips.
Yes both the Colt and Smith were.Smith & Wesson versus Colt. I believe it was the M1917.
The M1917 (same model # from both S&W and Colt). They used .45 acp in many revolvers in the wars as an alternate to the 1911s. Ammunition was loaded in moon clips.
After WW1 the M1917s were put in storage. When WW2 started they were brought back out of storage, serviced, then reissued. The M1917 (same model # from both S&W and Colt).
I don’t think Colt really continued making New Services in .45ACP after WW1; S&W did continue to make their M1917.
