Springfield Kuna Review — A Roller-Delayed 9mm

I could actually live with a quick one time payment of $200 for something l wanted .

It's the waiting and Form 020 's that keep my stamp collection small .
It’s going to be ages before that tax stamp goes away, and I believe it will. When it does go away, pent up demand will suck everything with a female 1/2x28 thread into its vortex. You’ll be paying north of $1500 because that’s all that will be left at the end of the week. Ammo gouging will seem innocuous. If you’re needing a barrel threaded, for the love of god get it done tomorrow.

Hope to be wrong on all accounts.

I'll just live with the bang

I don’t think the $200 is what is keeping the surge back, it’s the wait time AND 200. I think once they remove the fee, and I also feel they will, you’re still stuck with the same wait time/approval process.

IF they waive the tax AND make buying a supressor fall under the same background check as a pistol.. yeah, then it’ll be a free for all.
However, less restrictions could also lead to more competition and innovation, so price could go down…

No offense, I hope you’re wrong, I hope I’m right.. but I wouldn’t bet a dollar either way :)

I’m with you on that same thought. In addition to every firearm manufacture and aftermarket company will be will be in competition for our $$$. I feel it will spur the growth of even more advanced 3D printed, super lightweight, sub 100 dB, full flow through suppressors.

In regards to the register it like you would any other firearm, why? The suppressor would be an accessory, no different than a magazine, optic, laser, or light. Two years, heck one year from now suppressors will so much less expensive. Look at SIG, the bill hasn’t passed yet and they’re offering BOGO free on their suppressors.

I do not disagree…. It should absolutely be an accessory. I don’t register hollow point ammo when I buy it.
Point being, there’s compromises to be made.

From government AND public perspective… what’s an easier path to start down?
Remove the $200 tax and include some kind of enforcement… then back that off.
Or literally do a complete 360 and treat them like grade A1 threat to national security one day then nothing the next.

I only said that as a happy medium to get the ball rolling and the next path of least resistance.

They make buying suppressors as easy as buying a red dot… you’ll see innovation, competition, and better pricing.
in regards to SIG.
I’m gonna go out on a limb… and say that has just a tick of PR attached to it.. :)
