Stainless Garrison Locked Up

What, specifically, does "locked up" mean? New round in chamber? Old casing still in chamber? Slide back and won't move?

Definitely worth calling Springfield, but you're going to want to be much more descriptive.

This really, really sounds like a problem with the barrel link. With that few rounds, you may not see deformation yet. If it continues, I'd definitely send it to SA for a warranty claim with good details on what's happening.

Also: Double-check your ammo. Any chance it's overpowered and bulging the brass, making it hard to extract?

I agree and also wonder about the barrel bushing.

If the bushing fit (poorly) with a slight angle I have seen this happen. More common in the old days, however. As mree1911 wisely states it could be a slightly wobbly barrel link.

But, then you said: "Travel each direction was gritty and stiff."

I cannot imagine that being the case and there not being an issue with slide to frame fitment whether greased, oiled or dry. Even a tightly fit slide should not feel gritty.
