Testing the Springfield Armory Vickers Tactical 1911

I'd buy one in a heartbeat, except CA totalitarian will not allow Springfield Armory to sell this model in the totalitarian state of CA. It's not equipped with mandated yet nonexistent microstamping faux technology.

I still love my Sig "P" series handguns. Since my introduction to Springfield Armory 1911-A1's, when I think of 1911-A1's handguns, I think Springfield Armory and only Springfield Armory.

Now I have to add another gun to the bucket list. I've never been all that interested in tactical versions of the 1911 because I think rails and gadgets ruin the lines of a classic pistol. I'm not against adding lights and optics to a pistol, but I just prefer to do it on modern polymer guns with added capacity. I like the idea of Springfield receiving input from tactical specialists, but preserving the essence of the 1911. This one could end up costing me.

I love it! I love the 1911 always have and the railed 1911 as a work/defensive or combat pistol is just perfect, for me. I have nice (BBQ) 1911’s but as a working 1911 this or the likes of Dan Wesson, NH, Ed Brown, ect puts out some excellent working pistols.

Looks like a nice 1911. The price is not too bad, maybe slightly high. For concealed carry we can skip the accolades for grabbing those mags the base plates are too damn big. I like that it has a single side safety and no rail. If I was in the market for another 1911 I would check the "street" price on this one and compare to a Dan Wesson.
