Definitely a male and a female ...... you can see he is trying to talk to her and she is totally ignoring him !!! That's just the way it is !!!
Actually neither is female and both are probably 4 to 4 1/2 yrs old by the color of their heads. Fully mature, breeding males won't often perch that close together at the same level/height. Dominant males will usually perch at a limb or two above a younger bird.
