There are three new safe shooters in the world, so that’s a win

A quick article about about my experience getting the call that it was time to teach the Kiddos how to shoot. (I just spotted a typo on the caliber of the rifle, so excuse me on that).

Surprisingly it was not this fat guy complaint about being hungry!

The wife and I took my cousin (same age) to the range as she wanted to shoot some guns. Started with a .22 Ruger Wrangler and then moved to a .32 mag single six. She loved it. I could have added some semi autos, but just kept it simple and basic. Maybe more next time. Safety first, fun second. Win-win.

We don’t have kids either but I have been fortunate enough to teach a friend and her son how to shoot (and got them hooked) as well as my sister-in-law (she likes to do it just to say she’s been shooting). It is very rewarding when they have a positive experience, find a new hobby maybe and learn to safely handle firearms. For our friend, it took away her fear of guns, which was a huge bonus win.
