Thinking Soberly About 1911 Grips

I run the Magpul MOE panels mentioned on my SA Defender series and they work excellent .

Nice read & post Anni. I like the G10 VZ Grips (Tactical Diamonds), that came on my Springfield 45 TRP so much, I replaced the G10 VZ green Alien grips on my TRP 6” 10mm, with VZ’s Black/Grey Tactical Diamonds grips as well. Although not a 1911, I also replaced my CZ 75B grips with VZ’s Diamond Back grips that are somewhat similar to the Tactical Diamonds. All of them feel very comfortable, and I like the looks. Below is a picture of all three (CZ top, TRP 45 middle & TRP 10MM bottom (with G10 Green alien grips next to it)):

Nice guns grasshopper, my 911 has the G10 grips, I really like them a lot, if I ever get a 1911 again, the G10 will be my choice

one thing thats nice if you dont have a gun with the fancy frontstrap checking are the rubber undergrip pieces that pearce grip makes, not to expensive and you get finger grooves and added traction at the same time, makes a smooth pair of grips not so slickery.install easily under the grips and you dont notice any extra thickness to the frame either.

Kinda partial to G10-most mine are either GUNN or Cool Hand

i see you have several 2 tone ones,i've noticed over the past few years a growing number of them being produced by most companys,i have never figured out why.is there a reason so many are being made that way ? are there that many people wanting them ? i have never been a fan of them myself but thats just me,i dont even like the lightweight ones with a stainless slide and aluminum frame that dont quite match, like the one in the middle you have.

a year ago or so i went to an estate sale of a guy that had a gun store before retiring, bought a huge amount of stuff, wound up with a butt load of grips in the lot.the ones in the first pic, along the top and on the springfield, are all supposed to be handmade real MOP out of tailand.the pair on the colt i bought myself.they are a 1 off set made by TALO that i found on GB.
some are wood some are plastic some are metal, aluminum im guessing.
oh yeah, the ID10T scratch on the V-10, there when i got it.
