Nice, I would add XD in there, its a tank and doesn't need cleaning. They just run. Want bug out. You want reliable and something that you know will work.

Some of that stuff would be nice if they could make an Illinois compliance set up. I know S&W does to some of their set ups.
The HCP is nice and personally better than the Glock 43X. I don’t have the Echelon but would go XDm elite in 10MM but that’s another one that isn’t Illinois legal for now (basically I can’t find the Illinois legal version). I have the M&P M2.0 in 9mm and 10mm (compact) then the Glock G23 Gen 5 and G22 Gen 5 on the way. The list goes on from there.
In a nutshell use whatever you bring to the range or practice with. I know I’m not a Glock fanboy but will use it because it works.

I do not own a Saint 5.56 rifle but i agree a 5.56 should be top there. My Saint 9mm pistol would be with me, The hell cat would not be with me and i don't own a echelon or hellion.

The article is very biased, if it is a true bug out, an AK would be on that list! a good .22 like a 10/22, 9mm, .308 etc...
only Springfield I would roll would be maybe a Waypoint, and my XD's.

of course this is a SA site, but there are plenty of non SA threads, etc. But an article listing only the top 5 from SA is great, but not reality. As far as, an AK not making your list, that is not a problem. But to make this thread better, why would an AK not be on your list? I have my reasons why it would be, just curious

I like to think in terms of ammo. In a true SHTF scenario I'd want a .223 and 9mm, then anything after that is probably ok.
Ammo because that cherished firearm is about as useful as a football bat when you run out. I want to be sure I can scrounge that stuff up when I need it. 9mm is plentiful world-wide, and especially in the worst areas (Hati, Afghanistan, etc.)

Not started by the editor of SA website. now some Mods have started some. along with many members. far as the AK goes, i do not like AK's. sights suck, too short stock , the AK clack safety sucks. Now if we can include Hybrids in there then yes. and yes i know they work under any circumstance. just personal preference i guess.

I understand this is a SA site. However, I would run a Glock in .40, so I would have a 9mm conversion barrel and mags (maybe even .357 Sig). I would also have a .22LR conversion bolt and mags for an AR-15 pistol. For a second pistol probably a revolver in .357 mag so I could also run .38 (maybe even 9mm). If I'm really bugging out then I would also try to run optics not battery dependent like a LPVO or prism.
