TRP Range day!

I already had the first range day last week with the TRP and it was less than stellar. I had multiple failure to feeds with a range of ammo. In all fairness, I had just received two 1911s and I really didn't clean and lube them properly. This time, I thoroughly cleaned and lubed the TRP after I put the Osight SE enclosed optic on it. I also ran the slide and spring often to get rid of any burrs or thick spots in the cerakote. Range trip #2 was considerably better and I'm very happy with today's performance. I ran 260 rounds thru the TRP today with absolutely no issues. The gun ran 100% perfect! I shot 150 rounds of Magtech 115gr fmj, 100 rounds of 124gr Fiocchi fmj and 10 rounds of Federal HST 124gr hollow points.
All rounds were fed with a combination of Wilson Combat and Nighthawk Custom Mags, and all fired as expected, I spent the first 50 rounds or so zeroing in the optic, the rest were spent mag dumping and function checking the gun to make sure it'll run under load.
The upper right target was zeroing the optic and the lower left was after zeroing in at 25-30 feet.

On a side note, you can download and print a variety of targets from Ok2a.org.

Hi @hworth18,

Thanks for showing off that handsome firearm again. That 1911 wears that optic well. Sometimes an optic will look too anachronistic on a "classic" style 1911, but yours looks great. Nice job getting it zero'd and putting hits on the targets. And thanks for the "free targets" alert. I print a lot of my own targets (mostly B-8 centers) but I'm always keeping an eye out for new ones.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Wish it was in black
Funny story about that... I originally wanted an evil all black one, but all they had was the Coyote Brown. The price was WAY too good to pass up so I went ahead and got it. I didn't like the pbj grips so I ordered black ones from VIZ. Same grips, just in black. Anyway, I went back to the same site a few days after I got the TRP and they had the black back in stock.. Just my luck!
I'm actually pretty happy with the color now with the black grips. I'll run another 500 or so rounds thru it before I add it to my carry rotation.

Thank you sir! I'm still getting used to the color. I REALLY like the Osight line of optics. I have started replacing my Holosuns with Osights. They are well worth the price of admission, and I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Hi,

It took a bit of hunting to find the targets on o2ka.org. Here's the link....

Thank you for your indulgence,

I have posted the targets here in pdf format for those that really don't want to sign up to get them. Hopefully they work.
