Tunnels 2 Towers or Wounded Warriors Project, which one does what it says?

Good evening all. My Mom and I were discussing the difference between T2T and WWP, and which one better serves Veterans and their families. I read the issues in 2016 with WWP, but can't find much about them currently. What are your thoughts? Thank you for your input.
I remember awhile back they had a major shakeup with the leadership. There were claims and accusations that they were spending entirely too much on their lavish lifestyle and on corporate perks. I’d stay away from WWP.
DAV is one of the best and most well respected organizations for Disabled Veterans 🇺🇸

Tunnel 2 Towers...........

WWP is top heavy, and celebrity drunk, more of every dollar they take in goes to overhead.

T2T was founded by the brother of an NYCFD firefighter that was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The two organizations are not the same.
Yes, and yes. I did a little research a while back and came to the conclusion that T2T was the way to go. I give them a monthly donation and they send me, along with receipts, newsletters via snail mail and the odd gift (key chain, magnet, and the like). I don't care about that. I care about the work they do, and from what I have been able to find, they do a whole lot of good for the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

I donate to T2T monthly, and WWP sometimes.

I asked Grok "What percentage of donations are used for overhead for Wounded Warrior Project and Tunnels to Towers charities"

Grok says

For Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), based on its 2023 fiscal year financials, approximately 29.5% of its $369.4 million budget was spent on overhead (fundraising, management, and general expenses), with 70.5% going directly to programs and services for wounded warriors, their families, and caregivers.

For Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), in fiscal year 2022, 7% of its cash expenses were allocated to overhead, with 93% spent on programs, according to CharityWatch’s analysis of IRS Form 990 and audited financial statements.

These figures reflect the most recent data available but note that overhead percentages can vary year to year and depend on accounting methods, such as joint cost allocations for WWP. Always check the latest IRS Form 990 for the most current financial breakdowns.
