Designed in collaboration with Thunder Ranch and the legendary Clint Smith, Thunder Ranch models are purpose-built personal defense shotguns.

The Thunder Ranch Mossberg 940 is a semi-auto tactical shotgun with full Cerakote, optic-readiness, beveled and flared loading port, corrosion-resistant internals, and upgraded furniture, among other features. The Thunder Ranch 590 is a take on Mossberg’s legendary pump action shotgun with a Cerakote finish, optics readiness, upgraded sights, and other features.

The auto is $400 cheaper than a Beretta, which is $400 or more cheaper than a Benelli.

I have to admit though, if I went for one it would be the JM940 Pro. I see no reason to pay $400 extra for a stock I’ll end up swapping out and an allegedly better trigger.
Okay, you're the shotgun guy, so I'll ask you a serious question (for once in my life, I'm not being a smartass). What will that 590 Thunder Ranch actually do any better than my 1977 Mossberg 500 ATP8?

Is the reason the market is offering more brown colored guns because black colored guns are considered evil? ;)
It is because of our wars in the middle east. But it is also true that they hide better, especially in the desert. You can see how these two things are interrelated.
