the only video games i play, are the MS Solitaire suite of games.
 
I play now and have been playing since the late 70s when Atari came out. Currently on PS5 pro, Xbox Series X, PC….and Switch 2. Oh, and PC/Steamdeck too. A lot of folks think that’s probably overkill, but passing on one nice custom gun paid for it all except the PC stuff. This is basically my number 1 retired hobby.

My favorite console games currently are open world and RPG, like Witcher 3, Outer Worlds, Fallout 4, and a few of the newer ones, as well as some FPS shooters (Doom, Halo, etc). Most recent obsession was Oblivion remastered and just recently picked up Borderlands 4 for the PS5, though I have 1, 2, and 3 on various platforms, most bought when on ridiculous sales. I don’t finish a lot of them because most of them are way too long 😂.

PC is mostly where I play strategy games, like Total War, Warhammer III. And I buy duplicates of console games so I can play on SteamDeck, usually during the Steam massive discount sales. I am certain I own more digital games on Steam than I’ll ever finish in my lifetime 😃.

As I tell the wife, I’d much rather play PC/video games and work on hand eye coordination, problem solving, and tons of brain memory work (RPGs especially) than veg out in front of TV binging on a show for hours and gaining nothing.

Even with all that, I make sure gaming never interferes with other life responsibilities or hobbies. I have every intention of staying busy throughout retirement, until I can’t!

Almost forgot - Grandson enjoys it too, when visiting (still too young to shoot).

That is an excellent memory game. Way back in the early 80s when these arcade games were in the Rec Center at Luke AFB, I had enough patterns memorized, I’d get bored 😂. Of course it took more quarters than I care to remember to get that far. Also there were the original Asteroid, original Donkey Kong, original Missile Command, and original Tempest. Fun stuff!
