Welcome Message

Hi All New member from Connecticut. New to shooting and firearms just a few years ago following retirement. I enjoy 1911's and Berettas. Just picked up a Black Emissary in 9MM. 2nd Springfield with a 4.5" Echelon already in the safe. Seems it was time for me to join the Armory Life.

Hope to learn from everyone here and share a laugh or two along the way.

I'm a part time commercial boat Captain hence the screen name.

You are close by! Have a few different pistols in the safe and really do like them all. Have difficulty deciding what to bring every time I go to the range. Shoot 1 or twice a week.

i keep a 3 ring, 5" binder.

all guns are listed in there by

name,

serial number,

date purchased,

where purchased, with price

date put into service,

range times (dates),

cleaning and lubing and any parts replacements.

i simply cruise the binder for what gun to take, by the last time it got shot.

i go 1 sometimes twice a week.

i try to take 1 45 ACP gun, either a 1911, or other 45 once a week, and a 9mm or a revolver the next day i go.

Organized! No binder for me. All info is in a PC for record. Selections always based on how I'm feeling and shooting with. We have indoor and outdoor with action, rifle and 3 types of sporting clays (planning to trying clays in the spring). With exception to current extreme cold I prefer outside.
