What are you doing right now??

Hi,

Had a good gig today. Then Mrs. BassCliff and I enjoyed our Friday fish fry. I just remembered that I'm taking care of the neighbor's dog while they're away on Saturday. So I guess I'll do my laundry tomorrow and get some range time after church on Sunday. I suppose I can't complain too much. After all, I had three range days last week. ;)

We had some weather today too. Everyone stay safe.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Drinking some Dark roast coffee and putting in post surgery eye drops. 6 more weeks of 3 different types of drops then the last (hopefully) eye exam and new eyeglasses.
I’m not going to go to the range until I get cleared by my doctor. It sucks but better to be safe than sorry.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend 🤠

coffee x4

warrior9, be patient, let them ocular orbits heal

doing some programing of the truck later to shut off a pesky code for seat belts
installing moms new porch ceiling fan if rain holds out
and my most fun, big dog exploded last night and i have big black dog hair clumps all over the garage, so vacuuming is on
the high humidity and temps yesterday made her loose all the thick stuff over night, even though the furminator got her on weds

I am. This is my fourth eye surgery. Cataracts and detached retina in both eyes. My doctor said the retina has fully reattached and everything looks good. The eye drops are for the swelling.
This time I am strictly adhering to my doctor’s instructions.

Just finished coffee #2. It's just 38 degrees out, feels like 27 with the north wind - a good 50 something degrees colder than last weekend. Intermittent rain all day, so no getting in the garden this weekend (it rained most of the day yesterday). The man had to stay in GF and work today, so I am chillin at home. I had a decompression therapy on Thursday at the chiropractor's office. While in the long run he keeps me ticking, for two or three days after those monthly sessions I feel like someone ran my body through a meat grinder. Ibuprofen and my heating pad are my best buddies.

I suppose I'll get some inside chores done and then maybe take apart a couple guns...I feel like tinkering. Then maybe I'll kill some monsters. Nothing too physical for now.. ;)

Me too. 1968. Faulty memories. My uncle was a huge Brooklyn Dodgers fan. And Babe Ruth.
I do remember when Gene Autry bought the Angels. I rode my bike to day games during the summer. He made watching a baseball game in Angel stadium fun and affordable again 😊
I worked at two different liquor stores owned by the same family during the week so I’d have enough money to go to the games. The family who owned the stores bought me a season ticket and a new “beach cruiser” Schwinn bike for my 15th Birthday. They were the best 🍻

I hope things heal well soon for you. Eye surgery doesn't sound pleasant. My eye doctor told me several years ago that I have the start of cataracts but it would be years before they are to the point where I'll need surgery. I haven't been back there in about 4 years. I can still see well without glasses. I wear readers for reading (and shooting) but that's it. I can still drive at night like a boss, which is a good thing because it's always dark when I drive to work.

Don’t neglect your vision. The cataract surgery wasn’t bad at all. You’ll get new lenses put in so the need for glasses is minimal. I was awake both times

Had cataract surgery in both eyes
my vision has always been near sighted. Wore glasses all my life.
Need trifocal cataract lens replacement and paid the extra $$$ out of pocket since insurance only covers a normal lens. Not bifocal or trifocal implants.

I see 20/20 up close and far away till the day I die. Worth every damn penny. Best money I ever spent

I’ve multi vision lenses in both eyes. I had the surgeries at the US Army Regional Medical Center just 12 miles from my house. I didn’t pay anything 👍

If and when I ever need to have them removed, I’m told that Tricare may cover part of lense corrective surgery so I’ll go for it. I hate having to find a pair of readers just to read a couple of microscopic sentences.

The problem was found during my retirement physical. The head of the Ophthalmology department got approval from his higher to do the surgeries just after my official retirement date.

Prepping gear to take my son and daughter out for a night hog hunt tonight since they are back from college for summer break.
Last night yielded 11 with another group.
