well today or this morning odd
i drove to town to see my doctor for more shoulder work.
noticed as i was driving the right front tire PSI was 5 or so less than the passenger, but my sleepy brain said its rain and the tires are still cold..
when i came out from seeing the doc , my ford pass told me in an alert...DANGER WILL robinson, your tire is 8 psi
wholly cow, yup looks almost flat, not completely flat, but mostly flat
so i slow rolled across the 6 lane road to a gas station,
parked at the PAY as you need pump and proceeded to look for 1.50 in qtrs in the truck. aghast i was, when i discovered only 1.25
off i go inside to ask mr clerk to break a paper dollar into four qtrs, strange look he gave me.
back out to truck and deposit the coins and off it goes BRURMMMMMMMM hiiiss and i try to air up tire, but apparently the object that was holding the air in, had departed and the air was escaping almost as fast as the little pump could match. ddammmmmiit i mumbled
so i thought, hey you are still down nights with the shoulder , dont even try to jack up the truck, crawl under and fetch a tire...use road side service.
dammm your man card all to helll
so i press help on ford pass for road side , answered a few prompts and bing bango i get a text, we have your location,
service has been dispatched...expect 34 to 74 minutes .....
i get back in truck and call mrs boatr and let her know she ran over something driving my truck , she was not amused as she stated...oh your a funny guy.
followed by DO NOT CHANGE THE TIRE yourself.
ahhh i beat her to it and said they were on their way , expect a delay of my return.
then a text goes off the driver is 17 minutes away...really just up the street about 1 mile at the towing yard.
nice guy shows up, takes a few pics which i am sure will be on instagram, look at this old fart...cant change a freaking tire

jacked up truck, zipped off broken tire, tosses it in the bed
puts on new tire and i am ready to go
i gave him a tip and he refused, so i insisted.
i stop at a tire center. a about 5 miles down the road..guy said it would be about an hr....WHOLLY cheese grater
as i sit there i notice all the techs are FILTY mcnasty and their parts that sit in the seats are really grimy gopher guts dirty
so i think...dude, we need to leave, that stuff will never come out of the seat.
i calmly get up and drive off, and head back to my town., where i stop at the retired marines place and he says give me 5 and we will fix it up
cool. bingo bango
they grab the flat, and move my truck up and the guy snatches off the spare, and we get it back under the bed, the other guy pops on the original.
then the owner MARINE says your all done....i try to pay.... NOPE NO SIR...plugs are free
i need to send them a basket of brisket
so for a faux monday...i got a bit of a break
damm i hate being broken
