I just got another email telling what happened, they had a bullet escapement this morning and it hit a house nearby. somebody had to be shooting in the air for that to happen. i see where some idiots are shooting the steel plats about ten feet away. i figured one of them got hurt. so now they are trying to figure out where to have the range. i looked at google earth and i see no where.

Wow, always takes just a few idiots to mess a good thing up. My outdoor club is way out in the boonies, nobody lives close by, but we still have idiots around

You can't see it but there is a tall dirt berm at the end the range and those trees are really tall too. so somebody shot over them trees or had a discharge and bullet went some other way.

Day 10 post knee surgery. Tapering off meds. I get the staples out Monday, hopefully I can get back into my woodshop after that. The stircrazies are setting in. No real complaints, care from Mrs Greener and daughter is 5-star, but I am anxious to get to the other side of this. Laughter is good medicine and I get lots of that here.

We had storms go through here yesterday with torrential rains. Fireworks were canceled in lots of places and we ended up with pizza at the cousin’s house instead of picnic at the cabin. Gonna try again tonight.

that is some dumb dumbs out there, best thing is no people are hurt right
at the end of our long area...300 yards are COWS and LOTS of em
at least once a year one gets moooowed over by a rifle
the even scarier part is the 100 yard range aims down hill into a ravine..and trees YEAH, pretty safe for 99% of shooters
its about a 20 foot drop from firing line to the target.
but if you are even 10 feet above that ravine berm, its only a short 1000 yrds to a 2 lane highway and a few houses
our rifle areas get closed often to sort the issue, cameras have a few times now caught the culrpits which promptly lost their membership for life
1000 yards of trees is hard to push a bullet through, but yet jokers do the up and over..

winter plans are now a 20 foot wall of dirt, cross ties etc at the 100 yard line and close the longer one until some sort of qualification can be made for a shooter desiring the 300 yard range. plus observer of sorts
i figure it will be a tunnel like thing of tires and taller wall of dirt , etc

About 40 years ago we had a problem with projectiles getting out of a popular rifle range that I used. Rounds were coming through the roof of nearby commercial buildings.
The lasting solution was constructing a roof over the berm and about 25 yards in front of the berm with pre-stressed concrete girders and poured reinforced concrete over that. Essentially building a bridge over the last 25 yards or so of the range. Expensive, but no rounds were getting out of there. Then some dumbasses thought it a good idea to shoot at trash cans and street signs outside the berm area. Video eventually put the kabosh on that but stupid can pop up any time or place.

This is the kitten that has the injury (not 100% of what's the problem), so he uses it to his advantage. Since i sleep on the floor he thinks it's his bed. I was woken up by him biting my finger. He did that cause he wanted food. I think he's saying "move along , nothing to see here"?
