What are you doing right now??

I just finished putting up the tree, and now I have to get the kitchen cleaned up and start the beef and Guinness stew started. It's snowing now, but at least it's not coming in sideways at a high velocity. Well I better move my butt, or I'll lose my momentum. BTW...I am extremely thankful for the company here 🙂.

in my family, which has diminished greatly, no one was "at home" receiving Hospice care..each one went into the hospice facility/hospital..that was my reasoning for the urgency for you to get there.

i had one family member that needed so much oxygen, no home set up would have been sufficient.

another family member had to have the morphine "shots" every 4 hours.

it was gut wrenching for all of us...and we each took a turn to stay with the person for at least 8 hour "shifts".

one person "took" just over 2 weeks to die.......we were told by the attending doctor, he had gone "past the expected time to die", or words to that effect, and would be transferred to a nursing home instead.....because medicare will not pay for him to stay at hospice...........but the nurses at hospice shook thier heads...

that family member died 3 days later at the hospice place.

another family member died the 2nd night being there

so no, they can not predict.........

I will set a prayer for you and our family as well as your dad
we had turkey day a few ago...1st time in 60 years my dad was not there.
we may not be able to stop the clock of his leaving, but at least you can give him a few hugs etc.

I remember when my mom passed. She went to a hospice and we were told she would be getting morphine and that she would die in two weeks. She died exactly 2 weeks to the day. You will still have time when you get there. Just try to enjoy his company, I am sure he will enjoy yours.

It is a difficult time for you. I sense that you have the resilience to come through with the leadership and strength your family can lean on. God Bless you, we are with you in spirit.

Christmas tradition.

When my mom died I inherited that ceramic Christmas tree.4

I also inherited the Kenny G "Miracles" album.



Every year we put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving and play that CD (Now an MP3 on my phone) to open The Christmas Season.

On New Year's Day we put it all away.

I'm sitting on the couch with my cat and my wife enjoying the music
 
Just returned to N.E. FLA. from God's country (Texas Hill Country) Lake Travis Area. Had a great visit with four generations.
Step dad 93 yrs old.
Mother 88 Years old.
Me 59 years old.
My daughter 39 years old.
Granddaughter 14 years old.
Grandson 4 years old.
Also have 4 sisters ranging 69 years to 57 years old ( could not attend)
Also happens to be 39 miles away from Florence Tejas, home of two of the most relevant
Companies in modern firearms., Staccato and Dawson Precision.
(Side note, Silencer Co and Ben Stoeger pro shop are both within 10 miles of parent's home where I was staying). Sensory overload for sure.
Was not able to visit Dawson facility but did visit Staccato Ranch. Due to Holiday the firearms and ammo factory tour was N/A. I did visit the museum and pro shop and got a tour of indoor and outdoor range offerings.
The pro shop is second to none. From the minute you step in it is V.I.P. treatment! Heavily retail oriented but still First Class. An associate "adopted me" as soon as I hit the door. Everything from pistols to belt buckles, impressed is an understatement. If you ever get out that way I recommend a visit to STACCATO RANCH.

My mom owned & ran a ceramic shop in Miami. Can't even dream of all of those trees I helped with.
 
Did some small touchup on a piece in my shop. Discussed the next project with my daughter for her house which is a row of six cabinets for her media room, sketching the plans now. Also planning to re-build shop cabinets for my son's garage, the particle board ones fell apart. Getting a load of 3/4 Baltic Birch plywood next week so I can get started. It will keep me busy and out of the bars.....
