We had last minute company. I have a couple of work friends that are, well lets just say that they are like our kids…well, they have sold their house a few blocks away from us and there was an inspection going on when I got home. Needless to say, they were invited in and entertained for an hour or so when I got home from work.
So…everything is running about an hour behind tonight. Dinner’s done now though, and I’ve called mom. Haven’t heard anything from the dad side today but I have to work out some ground transportation from Sanford airport, but I think I can deal with that tomorrow.
I’m so tired it should be illegal 😎

Spent the day in Compton and Watts. I think I was the only gringo around for miles.
Most locals mistook me for a detective rather than booze peddler. At least no one jacked with me ;)

majority of L.A. is a :poop:hole below the poverty line and just a shame. like a third world country. high class or poverty. didnt see a middle income level in my entire day.

cant get away from the jacked up city soon enough....

i like cats...one of my daughters (when they were kids), would always "find" a cat and take it home....

when they would be in school, and i was home, the cat would always climb on me, and take a nap.....

if a cat got that close to me today, as that one in the pics...??

i'd be coughing, wheezing, have a runny nose, and watery eyes......

so no more animals near me, or in the house.

but i do miss those..."cat naps".

as a trucker, i been to the Compton/Watts, neighborhood, making a delivery..........a few short years after all the rioting.

in later years, i'd be on the same highway, passing the exit, at the time Reginald Denny, got a cinder block to the head.........

i hate to say it, but i am glad that was not my exit, that day as well.

my time line may be messed up on this next one, but then the I-80 collapse i think from the earthquake...???? i had just left the area about 6 to 8 hours earlier.....heading back east, to, i believe Nevada

scary times for me as a trucker
 
Getting ready to leave for a doctor's appointment. Then I will stop at my favorite gun store/indoor range. Just found out the owner is retiring and closing the place. But I heard that a couple of employees are buying the place from him. Huge liquidation sale going on with everything in the store at half price or at cost. I will stop on my way home to see what may be left. And ask when the new place will open again, under new owners. I sure hope soon, and that they open the range back up at the same time.
