What are you doing right now??

Have you done briskets before? I use Adam Perrry Lang's recipe, it works every time
A Smoked Brisket Recipe That Puts Others On Notice — Grillocracy https://share.google/VEZNMxfQxCkYHFlDi
It's just the wife and me so I haven't cooked many full packer briskets mostly just flats. Will be using a Matt Pittman Meat Church Holy Cow rub Texas brisket recipe on a 15-18 pounder. The weather forecast is heavy rain and mid 40-50's temp for the next few days will probably put my cook on hold. Thanks for the info will check out the Grillocracy recipe.

Getting ready to leave for a doctor's appointment. Then I will stop at my favorite gun store/indoor range. Just found out the owner is retiring and closing the place. But I heard that a couple of employees are buying the place from him. Huge liquidation sale going on with everything in the store at half price or at cost. I will stop on my way home to see what may be left. And ask when the new place will open again, under new owners. I sure hope soon, and that they open the range back up at the same time.
with that sale of ownership taking place, expect some price increases as well.

but that's nothing, in comparrison, to the place being closed for good.

or a corporation buying it out, and really spiking the costs.

Hi,

Spent the day in Compton and Watts. I think I was the only gringo around for miles.
Most locals mistook me for a detective rather than booze peddler. At least no one jacked with me ;)

majority of L.A. is a :poop:hole below the poverty line and just a shame. like a third world country. high class or poverty. didnt see a middle income level in my entire day.

cant get away from the jacked up city soon enough....

As a kid in the 60s, we lived in Compton for a while. It was a decent middle class neighborhood then. Even during the Watts riots my neighborhood was unaffected. It's not the same any more. The Golden State had become quite tarnished. But I digress.

I slept in a little, finished my morning workout, now having coffee before I do a couple of chores. Then I have a musical performance this afternoon and a Bible study at church tonight. It's a good day. Blessings to all.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Good morning fellow shootists!

It's a sunny 8° here in the Wild Wild Upper Midwest, looking forward to a week full of wintery weather.

I'll be doing chores indoors today after having lunch with the Men's Group from church. There are a couple of little things to do outside but I think I'll wait till tomorrow when it warms up to 27°. ;) Blessings to all.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Just heard back from FN on my ReflexXL. They have replaced the firing pin and the trigger bar. They say everything else is good. It is now in the process of being sent back to me. Also told me not to use Freedom Munitions anymore. Once it gets back guess I will clean it and put it away. I will not carry this firearm for CCW. Maybe I can trade it off for something else later down the road.

Looks like I’ll be flying to FL next Friday. My dad was released from the hospital today and he is in hospice. My sister there, and my brother are staying with him, tag teaming so to speak, until my other sister from KS and I can get there next Friday. They are making him comfortable now, and once they start the morphine… well, we’ve been through this before. It’s hard, but I think it’s time. He’s hanging on for his kids right now. I feel better now knowing that he’s waiting for us, and he is not alone.

I’m going to put up our Christmas tree tomorrow, so the husband can help me. It’s big and I can usually do it myself, but stuff seems to be going sideways this year, so I won’t be a hero. 😎
Sorry to hear about your Dad, Bella. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dad and entire family. Sorry for the late response, as I'm catching up on here since I'm not always on (too busy buying guns I guess ;)).
Anyways safe travels and wishing you the best.

I also found out that I could get a rebate on the Shield X I purchased. Well, after putting the rebate info in, have to go thru B.S govx to get it I was told that the number govx gave me was no good so rebate cannot be processed. What a crock! I called Smith and the person answering the phone could barely speak english. Told her to go home to her country and hung up. Then emailed them to let them know how stupid it was having to link up with govx. I do not need to beg anyone for $50. They have tried to call me back twice but I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

Went into tractor supply while ago for some blue loctite, guy at the register ask if he could help and he told me where it was. so i get back to aisle 19 and all they have is red and green. i get a small tube of it and was checking out and he ask well did i tell you the right spot and is it what you need? i said yes and no, you told right spot but i wanted blue. he ask what was the difference and i told him. he then said guess you need a certain kind for auto parts. i said yes but this is going on a red dot on an AR15.

He then ask what is a red dot, i told him, he then proceeded to tell me where he lived and somebody over to the south of him shoots machine guns all the time. well i knew where he was talking about and he was hearing me. :ROFLMAO:

I never told him it was me though, he ask about a machine gun and i said they are probably shooting an FRT, he ask what that was. i told him. he then ask what was the difference in them and a full auto, i said a200 dollar tax stamp and about 30 grand. he ask if they were legal. i said yes.

He then said in California we didn't have this, i said this ain't California, don't try to make it that commie state either. and i left.

i wonder if replacing that trigger bar, makes the trigger more "harder" to pull now..??

at least use snap caps and dry fire it..???
