What are you doing right now??

we came back from our weekly grocery shopping.

its "normal" for either myself or the wife and me to go shopping on the weekends.

however, a MAJOR snowstorm is about to dump a dusting to 3" of snow...!!!!!!

so EVERYONE is out shopping for bread, milk, beer, and chips, to honker down for the winters first MAJOR snowstorm....

christ, 1 stinking blizzard back in 1978 when nearly everyone was at work, and could not get home for days, and had no food or water available.......and they panic over a dusting to 3".......

It's called a "Garage Buddy" and will make me the envy of the neighborhood. ;)

This evening Mrs. BassCliff and I will be going downtown to attend a local repertory production of "A Christmas Carol". Everybody say, "Bah, humbug!" 🎅

After several weeks of wet & chilly weather we finally dried out & warmed up into the low 50's so I got the racing bike out and put in a 25 mile road ride today.

Tomorrow will be nice also so will great another ride in since it's back to wet & chilly weather Sunday night.

That will likely be it for rides outside on the skinny tires this year, so it will be back on the stationary bike.

Yesterday's surgery went extremely well, and I was able to walk out of the hospital from the recovery room to mom's waiting car - no wheelchair for me. I have some pain and discomfort centered around the incision, but the hip, leg and foot pains are gone.
I am calling this a huge initial success... my PT for the next month is a lot of walking, and if all goes well I will be able to slowly resume normal activities including work in mid-February.
Dr. Walpert and the entire Piedmont Hospital staff are awesome... I can't come up with a single complaint.

Good news, glad all went well
 
Sister and I spent the day with mom. Got her out of bed, showered and dressed, and whisked her off to get her hair done. We went to a little pizza place down the road for lunch because they never serve pizza at her place. Then we went out to visit my niece and her husband at their home in Christmas, FL.

On the way back to mom's place we stopped for ice cream. It was a good day with her. She seems to be doing well in her assisted living community. She needs to be coaxed sometimes to join in with activities, but the staff always makes sure she gets her meals and meds.

I am going to go up there tomorrow and get her up and take her to brunch, and get her caught up with things going on back home where I live. I am so glad I can have this time with her now, but I am ready to go home...bone chilling cold or not. Florida is waaaay too peopley for me. 😎
