And you say you can live with it? I sure couldn't. I can't stand for long periods or walk more than a hundred yards without the pain becoming almost unbearable. The only way I get relief is by sitting down or laying down. I can't wait to have surgery so I might be able to somewhat return to normal.

Have been for the past 2 years, out of 1-10, it’s a 5 all the time, goes up to about a 9 if I overdo things, mostly just bothers me when I am on walking on concrete, I can sleep usually with no issues, when I had that surgery 2 years ago, I only took 2 Tylenol at the hospital, I can really tolerate pain
 
I picked up a new saw for a project I have coming up. The sad thing is, I won't be the one using it. My son and daughter will, cutting up plywood to floor the attic space above my garage and carport. Because of my back, I'll just be supervising. I prefer worm drive circular saws. Hope my kids do too! lol

I to have back issues. Went to see some quack in El Paso Tx and never went back again. Doctor was so rude and condescending. I do have a very high tolerance to pain and for the most part if I am careful I can tolerate. Right now my sciatic nerve on the left side has been bothering me for a week. Hoping it will settle down some. I do not take any pain medication because one I am on the blood thinner xarelto and two, I don't like the feeling this pain meds give me. I guess I have just adjusted to it but somedays can be trying. Being on blood thinners are also a pain. Any time you need to get something done I have to come off of them for a few days before procedure.

Went to see a pain management doctor about my back, he gave me several options, one was to take this Gabapentin med, passed on it due to it increases your creatinine (protein) in your urine, mine is already high due to only one kidney now, then he said he could do several injections to find which nerves are affected then do a permanent nerve block by burning the nerve endings, will pass on that also, I’ll just live with it like I have been, complete waste of time going to see him.

Went through numerous injections each one lasted a week or so back to intense pain. Won't tell the whole story but eventually got an implanted spinal cord stimulator over eight years ago. Have to charge it up every 7-8 days but don't have any back pain. Hope you find something that works for you.

If I were still scheduled to have the surgery, they were going to put one of those stimulators in also. But they told me the battery would last a couple of years. Maybe by the end of the year I can get the surgery.

My first battery lasted 6 years had a battery change about two years ago was told the new one would last 8-10 years. My stimulator is made by Medtronic.
