What are you doing right now??

Had to put our sweet little Suzie Q to sleep. She was 16 years old, blind, not eating or drinking and in pain. All of our dogs are family members it really hurts to lose one of them.
Sorry for your loss

Barely functioning (ie just got out of bed). Head is pounding, lots of neck pain, if any typos it's because pain distorts my vision/focus which also keeps me from driving which makes trips take longer. Hopefully leave tomorrow for a Tuesday dr appt for a short 340 mile drive. Hoping to find a range and shoot, but at this rate who knows if that'll happen!

i will say it has affected everyone in the house about my limitations! never taught them to ride horses or many other things need in this life. all of my kids are well liked in this community due to being taught respect for others (can't say that about the next door kids or their parents). some people i've known for decades had a trampoline they were trying to move inside their yard (tall fence and it was assembled). i told Kate (the home owner) i'd get some kids to help after football practice was over to help get it inside the backyard. 14 volunteers came over as 8 were on the outside to lift it over the fence and 6 on the inside to get it. she wasn't there when we move it and wanted the kids names so she could offer them something for their help. she owns a store that did custom shirts as they could get a shirt of their choice with or w/o something on it. i asked the kids that helped and all said they just wanted to help. only 2 of those kids were mine. she offered me the same on shirts.

1 day there was some people trying to get a sofa inside their house and 2 of my other kids saw this and stopped to help. whether we know these people or not, they stop to help if someone needs helping. this isn't anything i can say my parents taught me cause i don't recall either stopping to help people or at least not when i was there.

I am so sorry for your loss. It really hurts to see them go. I feel for your pain and grief. Just remember she is not in any pain anymore and will be waiting for you on the other side.

It has been a cloudy day here but... the outside temp right now is 105. It takes your breath away. It's like the calm before the storm. It will get real loud here tonight especially when they sell "artillery shells" at the fireworks tents even though they are illegal here. As soon as the sun goes down it starts to about 1:00 am. I can hardly wait.

About the same thing as here, and yes very short night with my dog.

I might get lucky tonight with no neighbors (at least close by ones) having parties tonight. I've been watching the road in front of my house that takes you to my neighbor's places. Not much traffic. Maybe no all night parties this year. Maybe no fireworks to keep one of my dogs all worked up all night long. For the most part, my neighbors are all good, but fireworks and thunder really scares one of my dogs a lot. Go figure that it is the biggest and best guard dog of the two. Well, we shall see. My wife will wake me if there are any problems. I am a pretty sound sleeper (that really makes the wife jealous).

Yes, it hurts to lose a beloved family member. Sorry to hear this. Take happiness in that you gave Suzie Q a good life. Blessings to you and yours.

Hi,

I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July celebrations. Mrs. BassCliff and I just got back from viewing the movie "Young Washington".

We enjoyed it so much that I just bought four "pay it forward" tickets so others could go see the movie for free. I hope it inspires some more folks to love this country.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
