Been really busy in these parts lately. Went into the yard this morning to get ready for the delivery of the brick for our fire pit. I see this white thing and I go up to it thinking it’s a piece of paper or paper towel , but no…
Seems a coyote has been sheltering in the cedars and left a calling card
. He left evidence everywhere. That seems to happen every time they plant corn in the west field.
Then later on we are walking in the backyard and hundreds (and I’m not exaggerating) of monarch butterflies swarm out of the trees, like a butterfly garden. I’m thinking they are getting ready to migrate.
I’m not sure these pics will populate properly, but they don’t do the moment justice anyway. It was really cool. I have read that they migrate long distances but I’ve never seen them by the hundreds before.
