Hi,

I just ordered 1000 rounds of 230 grain .45ACP from Freedom Munitions (freedommunitions.com). Right now they have free shipping (over $175) and 10% off with code 'pewpew10'. I got the case delivered to my door for $320. See: https://www.freedommunitions.com/45-auto-230-gr-rn-new.html

This is good stuff, the "sister store" to LAX Ammo, and made in the USA. Been using them for years.

Thank you for your indulgence,

thanks for the tip BC - reasonable shipping too - just bought a case.

Today I ordered the remaining lower parts I need for the 733 pistol.

Namely a Spikes Tactical LPK with a single stage trigger, and in deference to user friendliness I opted for a Magpul enhanced aluminum trigger guard, and a Strike Industries enhanced bolt catch.

This old girl's gonna be a stunner......

Went to lgs to get rear sights adjusted for my hk, was talking to the unbelievably great rep and then this beautiful piece, pic below, called me from the glass case and well, the rest is history.
Think I will name her Darlene. Sucks have to wait the 30 days mandatory since last pistol purchase but yes ordering the right stuff to kit it out.

Would really like to have a Kimber revolver but the budget says no and I need another gun like I need another hole in my ****.

Today, my wife whispered in my ear the four words every married man fantasizes about hearing from his wife....

"I need a revolver"

Sadly (!), we were already in a gun shop at the time (I was looking for rifle parts).

And, before I could even pick up the parts I needed, another guy had whisked my wife away and found her a gun she wanted.

I was trying to get her to finish the paperwork quickly, before I reminded her that she actually already HAD a revolver. It fits in the palm of her hand, but it is a revolver.

Since I'm sure NOBODY would notice if I forgot to mention she bought a S&W 38 revolver with a 1.88 barrel, I'm gonna wait ten days before I mention it, when I know more. I didn't want to give her any time to change her mind.

By the way....she paid for her new gun and I STILL convinced her it's her birthday present. And her birthday isn't until NOVEMBER .

So I'm gonna keep my wife. Now I gotta convince her that, since SHE got to get a new revolver, then I should be able to get a new revolver, too. And since I was looking at a shiny new .44 Mag revolver before she decided to get herSELF a a new gun, that means I get a new gun by default, right ?

Makes sense to me.

Yesterday evening I got around to opening a parcel that came earlier in the day, and it was an additional 3 SA Echelon mags. I had a spare ODG extension that came with the gear-up, so now I have 3 'extendo' mags (20rds/ea) and 5 standard-capacity (17rd) mags...

At the top of the photo is a rare thing in 2025... some spare ammo that was in my dearly departed Julie's ammo can: a partial box of vintage 1990's Winchester 'Black Talon' - which the gun prohibitionists called "cop-killer ammo", on account of their incorrect assumption that the bullet's chemical coating was molybdenum disulfide or something that could defeat kevlar. In fact, the bullet's dark coating was Lubalox. Also not kevlar-defeating... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Talon#Overview

I did a quick check on Ammoseek, and yes there is still Black Talon ammo in multiple calibers available on the resale market. The prices are so high, the only justification is if you're some sort of vintage ammo collector... Based on these prices, I'm sitting on about $175 worth of 9mm.
