What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Update have the gun roughed in with the 6" slide and 38 super barrel which has to go back to Kart for rechambering, the 38 special barrel should be here by Saturday that should be fairly easy compared to the super barrel which was a pain to fit but I think it will shoot very well.
The red dot adapter plate is on the way for the new ultra dot red dot and the open sights fitted on the 5". Most metal work is done trigger is perfect at 4 lbs for competition.
I finished the horizontal cuts on the back of the slide and sent barrel back today not sure I want to start the stippling on the mainspring housing and front strap yet. The other barrel didn't show up yet unfortunately. Just a heads up I don't blend the back of the slide to the frame intentionally for a couple of reasons.
Anyone ever see one of these grip safeties I never have but it's growing on me. I think I'll do some horizontal grooves on the part that sticks out but real wide and maybe just a few in progressively smaller cuts from bottom to top. I think they call it a speed bump style I got it from Caspian.

Nice work, looking forward to seeing the finished pistol.

I appreciate the correction. As for price range, I look at every firearm with the potential of being carried on person, in a compartment in the vehicle, carried out in the rain, or staged. That being said, some $2,500.00 pistol is far, far away from being reasonable. I tend to be utilitarian in my view of firearms. I don't buy anything that I wouldn't truly use and I don't want to worry about holster wear. I take good care of my tools and I don't abuse them. However, I would never use a Kimber Crusader for EDC for example.
Depending on price range you buy in there ARE some nice handguns

Texas does not have a waiting period. You must have gotten a NICS delay.
I don't have to wait since I have a LTC. They don't even call it in, but they do something on a pc. Supposedly there is a 7 day wait between handgun/pistol purchases? I did have 1 ffl tell me I can get more than 1 at a time but requires them to do extra paperwork. Ill check with other ffl's for answers.

Earlier this week, my first S&W; a .22 Magnum pistol that holds 30 rds. in one magazine. My oldest son already claimed 'dibs' on the first shot fired in it, along with all the ammo accumulated and the Remington #597 rifle I have. Hope we have good weather here in the area whenever he comes up from L.A. then perhaps I can go out with him and shoot it too.

There is no wait in Texas for anything unless one has to do the NICS check and gets put on a hold on it. There is a requirement to report multiple handgun purchases within 7 days. So John Doe is going to buy one of each model (insert brand here). He can buy them all and take them all home at once but it will be reported to ATF on some form I've forgotten the number for. Or he can buy one and go back every eighth day and buy another and no report. Or he can drive all over town and buy one each at every store and take them all home that day. No report. It's multiple handgun purchases at a single dealer. Any/all subject to change since a quarter century ago when I worked in the industry and had to do those.

Can someone from out-of-state buy a gun and go home with it? I never bought a gun outside my area.

Just ordered 10 ammo boxes for the 12 gauge shot guns, that will hold 250 shells, the rest can stay in boxes or mags.

There's no wait between purchases. If you buy more than one handgun or long gun in a day at the same location, the store has to do additional paperwork. Form 3310, there is one for Handguns and one for Long Guns and it has to be emailed directly to the ATF. He told you there was a 7 day delay because he's lazy and didn't want to file the additional paperwork. If you wait 7 days he doesn't have to file the 3310.

I do believe in the LAZY part on his end for sure! The owner is rarely there which leaves it to only 1 person that does the transfers. It's not his primary business is most likely why. Animal feed and care is his majority with less than 2% (just aguess) being firearm related items. I usually don't buy this frequent so it isn't that big of deal to me. It is interesting to find out why they choose to do so though. It's funny when they (actually 1 person there) tells me it's the law. I laugh and tell the you're wrong.

Thanks for the info!

If i could go around and buy from different ffl's in the same town I would. Lately it's been online buys of which I'll start (if I do it again) have them sent to several ffl's. I know there majority of the ffl holders in my local town, but the majority of them have other jobs which leaves me on figuring out how the packages gets signed for?
