What Is the Best Belt for EDC?

My kid bought me one of the 5.11 Tactical Apex Gunner's Belts which is a solid polymer. Wore that for virtually all the work days for about 9 years. Comfortable and wears like iron with double hook supports. Supported a duty holster, mag pouch, cuff case and OC and gives no sign of wearing out. So good in-fact that I bought a duplicate in brown. The only place you can find them now is on ebay. Another nice thing about these belts is there's no sliding of gear or holster.

Heard and saw a lot of positve comments in the Kore belts so I bought the 2 belt bundle deal and wow they are great belts. I am hard to impress but these are so dang adjsutble and supoportive and comfortable to wear. I can not imagine using my old belts anymore.

For those on a limited income, look at CrossBreed Seconds. About 50% off, normally belts that got returned because the original customer ordered the wrong size. SOOOOO.... read and follow sizing chart.

I prefer to be inconspicuous in public, so I like a good old fashioned leather belt. These newer synthetic belts tend to make one look tacti-cool and may draw attention. Not my cup of tea.
If you’re carrying IWB no one can see your belt. And if you’re carrying OWB I think your gun printing might be more obvious than your belt.

The difference between a regular leather belt and a “ gun belt” is night and day. I’m not saying there aren’t regular belts that will hold up to regularly carrying that weight, but then there are gun belts like “ The Thirty Dollar Gun Belt” that look just like a regular belt but are steel reinforced. I have one. It’s good. Micro-adjustments on belts like Kore are a game changer though. I’ll never go back. I’ve been wearing them about 5 years and no one ever thought I looked tactical other than on the range or in training.

At the first part , that's not necasarily true .

If carrying at 3:00 ‐ 4:30 or lefty equivalent , OWB , or IWB , it is common to have the front part of belt / buckle visable with unfastened jacket , vest , etc , or unbuttoned outer shirt .

lt's usually not a huge deal , unless it's a glaring contrast , but it is greater than zero thing .

I’m almost always IWB. Usually appendix. And my t-shirt is long enough to cover my buckle. The Kore belt has a non descript buckle anyway.

I kinda think it’s one of those internet “gray man” theories. I don’t think too many people are actually outed by their belt. Or their cargo pants for that matter. 😄

Would it be inappropriate for a 70 year old guy to still be wearing drive in movie pants?

Excuse my clumsy use of quote feature . I was quoting Belt Fed , on the theme of dressing as typical for you , and where you usually are & doing .

Take " Grey Man ' with a grain of salt . It's not necessarily a Universal Costume .

. It's what would be unremarkable , and " normal " for * you * . For Me , it's a tooled belt , and medium big buckle .

Or their cargo pants for that matter. 😄

Except for 5.11 pants . They are a screaming neon sign .

You were doing so well up to there. 5.11 make more than a few pairs of pants that don’t look tacticool. It helps if you know how to dress with some style though.

I’ve worn my Kore belts with suits on more than one occasion and no one has been the wiser. When you’re wearing a $400 hand painted, spider silk tie, that tends to get most of the attention.

Some of them are for sure.

Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “What Is the Best Belt for EDC?” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/what-is-the-best-belt-for-edc/.

I have two belts from First Tactical that work great (for me anyway). They are very stiff and stay tight all day. Watch for their sales. I stay away from belts with holes because they tend to be too much Alice in Wonderland (this hole is too tight and this hole is too loose).
