When it comes down to it, what is your "go to" EDC?

I carry in hospitals and doctor offices. If it’s not against the law ( signs have no force of law) and I have to go there I go. No one knows what’s in my pants.

As for federal buildings, voting places etc. yeah, I try not to go to federal buildings and I don’t usually feel the need to be armed going to the local church to vote.

I do understand the dilemma though and I agree with Annihilator. If you HAVE to leave a gun in a car, use a safe. It’s not 100% effective but it’s better than nothing.

As far as sports stadiums, I don’t go to them. And if I did I would leave my gun at home rather than leave it in my car parked in downtown St. Louis.
Another place I do carry and do still go to them, are restaurants.

My Colt Agent 38 (97% my primary carry) disappears into my shorts pocket.

As a lawyer, I’m in and out of court houses and federal buildings up to 10 days a month.

Parking lots are monitored by cc cameras and a deputy (or security guard) are on patrol, so I don’t have a need to do the lockbox.

Voting? I’m fortunately in and out in a matter of minutes and it’s so busy I can’t imagine anyone trying to break into the vehicle at my location. Others might be a wait and a hike to cast your vote, so yes, caution is the word of the hour.

I’m thinking back and I’m sure there are times I went in and voted with a gun in my pants because I voted on my way home from work. It’s a church basement. Never crowded. Very heavily pro gun, pro law enforcement, rural district. Besides, no one knows what’s in my pants and no one cares.

I’ve probably done the same thing.

And my voting precinct location is a big ‘ol church the size of a city block with county deputies directing traffic!

I have carried a Ruger SP101 as my EDC for many years, but of late, I am thinking of going to a semi auto for various reasons. Although I love the SP 101, in this day and age, combined with my getting older and other factors, there may be better choices for EDC. I know alot of guys that carry micro, compact, medium and large frame semi autos as their EDC. I have been fortunate enough to try many of them at the range and have asked everyone the same question....Why is this your EDC? It's obvious that there is no one "best" EDC, it depends on the person and many other factors....

I am pretty sure alot of us have experimented with EDC pistols, trying to find "the one" that is perfect for you and your situation. I know I have shot over 15 different semi autos in the last 2 months or so and have narrowed the field to a handful. I will be making my final decision soon after a bit more shooting and research....I am not one to switch between multiple handguns for seasons, area to be visited and such, so I need to consider several factors in my final decision...

Just curious, what is your "go to" EDC? Even if you have cycled through multiple choices, what one EDC do you always return to and why? Thanks for any input...
I carry different firearms and it depends on what I am doing. On the property I carry a GP100, for everything else I carry one of the following: Sig M11A1, Sig P365 X Macro Comp, Springfield 1911 R/O champion in 9mm and last but not least a Bersa T-380. I carry the X Macro most of the time. It just shoots good. At the time of this writing it's the 1911 though. And yes, I do practice with them all.
