I think it was getting too many political posts which were not allowed per the regs. Was a shame . I enjoyed the good laugh on the cats, snowmen, seasons, etc ..

My guess it was removed because many of the post were comics that were copyrighted. I know my reaction score dropped close to 2000 points because of the thread removal.
It was fun while it lasted.

Yes , unfortunately most of the content was copyrighted and we do get angry cease and disist letters from comic artists that say we have been bad boys and girls for sharing and enjoying the artwork.
